Closing date: 31 July 2026 Candidates must be eligible for their own GMC registration; MFT cannot support GMC Sponsorship for candidates who are offered permanent vacancies. This is a full‑time position with 10 programmed activities spread throughout the week. The post holder will be part of the T&O team delivering pelvic trauma services and will demonstrate competency in dealing with pelvic and general trauma. The successful candidate should have completed at least six months of a fellowship position. • Provide a comprehensive pelvic trauma service, including management of polytrauma., • Deliver general trauma as part of the on‑call rota., • Attend fracture clinic., • Participate in the major trauma consultant of the week rota., • Operate in elective hip arthroplasty theatre and attend outpatient clinics., • Entry on the specialist register (or entry expected within six months)., • FRCS (Tr&O)., • Evidence of satisfactory completion of post‑CCT fellowship – ATLS provider., • Post‑graduate thesis., • ATLS instructor., • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Trauma & Orthopaedics., • Completed fellowship in trauma surgery including pelvic trauma (minimum 6 months)., • Primary interest in trauma surgery., • Ability to offer expert opinion on a range of problems, both emergency and elective in pelvic surgery., • Further experience in trauma surgery., • Ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of specialist service., • Ability to organise and manage outpatient priorities, surgical waiting lists and operating lists., • Ability to manage and lead a surgical firm., • Understanding of the clinical governance network., • Evidence of audit., • Proven track record and management experience., • Ability to teach clinical and operative skills., • Experience of teaching medical students., • Experience of supervising foundation year trainees or equivalent and above., • Teaching qualification., • Evidence of involvement in research projects., • Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems., • Publications in peer‑reviewed journals., • Ability to work in a team., • Good interpersonal skills., • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GPs, nurses and other agencies., • Commitment to continuing medical education., • Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions. £113,565 to £150,569 a year – 10 PAs plus on‑call supplement.
