We pride ourselves on a collaborative and supportive work environment, where the well-being and safeguarding of the children we support are held of paramount importance.Job Summary:The Area Manager for West Midlands will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight and successful operation of all Jordan Xavier Connect Ltd's accommodation and support services within the designated West Midlands region. To maintain a rigid Quality Assurance framework that ensures the service is not only safe but inspection-ready at all times. To hold full accountability for the integrity of records, the physical standard of the home, and the accuracy of support hour delivery." This pivotal role encompasses staff supervision, ensuring high standards of service delivery, effective property management, robust complaint resolution, and driving business growth in partnership with the assigned placement officers and with landlords and agents. The successful candidate will be a proactive and adaptable leader, adept at managing diverse responsibilities, fostering positive relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders, and maintaining an unwavering commitment to safeguarding children. T o act as the "Registered Manager" in accordance with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 . This includes a specific duty to notify Ofsted of serious incidents (Regulation 26) and to maintain the Quality of Care Standards (Regulation 4).Key Responsibilities:1. Safeguarding and Young Person Well-being: Ensure safeguarding is held of paramount importance in all aspects of service delivery and decision-making.Implement Jordan Xavier Connect Ltds safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring all staff are trained and compliant. Act as a designated safeguarding lead for complex safeguarding concerns. Foster a culture of vigilance and proactive identification of risks to children's welfare and work collaboratively with external agencies (e.g., social services, police) to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Contextual Safeguarding: Maintain up-to-date Locality Risk Assessments for each home, utilising live police crime data to monitor risks regarding County Lines, Gangs, and CSE, and adjusting curfews/staffing accordingly. Specialist Health Needs: Ensure that every young person has an operational Health & Support Profile (e.g., for Coeliac, Autism, PDA) and that all relief/agency staff are briefed on these critical needs before starting a shift. Reflective Culture: Lead monthly "Reflective Practice" sessions to challenge non-inclusive or dismissive staff attitudes, specifically regarding neurodiversity and trauma responses.2. Staff Supervision & Performance Management: Assist in the recruitment, training, mentoring, and motivate a team of floating support workers. Conduct annual performance reviews and monthly supervision via Google Meets or face to face, set clear objectives, and provide constructive feedback to ensure team members meet and exceed targets related to support delivery and safeguarding. Foster a positive and productive team environment, promoting collaboration, professional development, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Manage staff rotas, annual leave, and sickness in line with company guidelines to ensure adequate coverage and continuous support for children. Address performance issues promptly and effectively, implementing disciplinary procedures when necessary. Competency Sign-Off: Oversee the Extended Mentoring Programme (8 Weeks) for all new starters. The Manager is personally responsible for signing off staff as "Safe to Lone Work" only when competency is proven. Engagement Monitoring: Review "Refusal & Engagement Trackers" during supervision to ensure staff are persistent in offering support and not accepting "refusals" as an excuse to disengage.3. Complaint Resolution (External & Internal): Act as a primary point of contact for complex and escalated complaints from children, external agencies, and stakeholders, ensuring sensitive and appropriate handling. Investigate complaints thoroughly, ensuring fair and timely resolution in line with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safeguarding principles. Implement preventative measures to reduce the recurrence of common complaints. Address internal staff grievances and conflicts in a constructive and professional manner, promoting a harmonious working environment. Maintain accurate records of all complaints and resolutions, identifying trends and reporting on key insights to the director.4. Property Management: Oversee the effective management and maintenance of Jordan Xavier Connect Ltd's accommodation portfolio for children within the West Midlands area. Conduct or delegate to staff regular property inspections to ensure properties are well-maintained, safe, compliant with health and safety regulations, and meet the specific needs of young residents. Liaise with contractors, landlords/agents, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of maintenance and repair works, prioritising the safety and comfort of children we support. Manage property-related budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.5. Service Management & Quality Assurance: Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred support services to all children and stakeholders within the West Midlands region. Monitor service delivery performance against agreed KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs), with a strong focus on outcomes for children. Identify opportunities for service improvement and implement best practices to enhance children's satisfaction and developmental progress. Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with industry standards, internal procedures. Act as a champion for excellence in youth support, ensuring all team members are empathetic, professional, and dedicated to the well-being of children.6. Business Development & Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities as suggested by the placement officers within the West Midlands market to expand Jordan Xavier Connect Ltd's reach and impact, including building relationships with local authorities, referral agencies, and landlords and agents. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key stakeholders to foster loyalty and identify opportunities for service enhancement. Represent Jordan Xavier Connect Ltd at industry events, networking functions, and community meetings to raise brand awareness and promote our services. Prepare and present proposals and pitches to prospective partners as required for Tenders.7. Quality Assurance and Integrity:Audit Integrity: Conduct weekly physical audits of the home (using the Weekly Oversight Tracker) to ensure that written records match the physical reality (e.g., checking food stocks match the inventory, checking maintenance logs match the repair status). Preventing Fraud: Conduct random spot-checks on "Key Work" sessions (calling young people/visiting during shifts) to verify that staff are present for the full duration of support hours claimed. Data Validation: Regularly audit staff timesheets against Soti to prevent over-claiming of hours and ensure safeguarding supervision levels are met.Qualifications & Experience:Proven experience (2 years) in a role within the youth support, social care, housing, or supported living sector, specifically working with children aged 18+ .NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) , OR a strong commitment and willingness to immediately work towards achieving this qualification within an agreed timeframe.In-depth understanding of safeguarding principles and practices for children (aged 18+), including relevant legislation and guidelines.Strong track record of successful complaint resolution and conflict management, with a sensitive approach to vulnerable individuals.Experience in property management or related field is highly desirable.Proven ability to drive business growth and develop new opportunities within the sector.Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, staff, and external partners.Strongorganisational skills with theability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiencyin relevant software applications (e.g.,Microsoft Office Suite, AI (Gemini, CHATGTP, Google workspace etc)A full UK driving licenseDesirable Skills:Knowledge of the West Midlands geographical area and local authority commissioning processes.A proactive, results-oriented approach with a strong person-centred and safeguarding focus.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider regional/national team, demonstrating initiative and accountability.TPBN1_UKTJ
