Science Technician with SEMH experience to start a full time, long ter. Science Technician with SEMH experience to start a full time, long term role in September 2020. TeacherActive are working with a Birmingham based secondary Alternative Provision who are looking for a Science Technician with SEMH experience to start in September 2020 on a full time, long term basis. The most suitable Science Technician with SEMH experience will: Work across Key Stage 3 – 4 in Physics, Biology or Chemistry. Check and provide the appropriate apparatus/ equipment to meet teaching requirements, including mixing of chemical solutions Maintain laboratories, preparation rooms and chemical stores according to Health and Safety Regulations Support with stock checks and ordering of new materials when required Identify faults on equipment and apparatus and carrying out repairs where possible Provide practical support and guidance for school staff in the use of materials, laboratory techniques, practices and processes and recommend solutions to technical problems encountered Assist with practical demonstrations during lessons from time to time Manage challenging behaviour within the classroom Undertake and assist with science department administration and paperwork for lesson preparations, examinations etc. To be considered for the Science Technician with SEMH experience post you will have: Qualification in one of the 3 sciences to a minimum of GCSE level or equivalent Experience of working in a laboratory environment Excellent communication and organisation skills Excellent classroom management experience Confidence to support challenging behaviour during science lessons.
