Job DescriptionSalary: $85,000 - $110,000 Branch Manager Florida Are you a senior-level project manager with both technical expertise in building envelope consulting and the ability to drive business development? J2 Building Consultants is looking for a Branch Manager to launch and lead our new Florida location. This role is a mix of hands-on consulting work and leadership: youll conduct inspections, prepare reports, guide clients through repairs, and build trusted relationships with HOAs, attorneys, community managers, and contractors. At the same time, youll be the face of J2 in Florida, developing new business and setting the foundation for a growing branch. WHAT YOULL DO Run the Florida Branch Serve as J2s lead presence in Florida - overseeing projects, clients, and local operations from a home office until a physical branch is established. Lead & Deliver Projects Conduct forensic inspections, prepare technical reports, and guide clients through repairs while managing complete project delivery - including budgets, schedules, teams, and building envelope systems (roofing, waterproofing, cladding, insulation, and more). Drive Business Development Expand J2s footprint in Florida by building strong client relationships, developing new opportunities, and representing the firm at industry and community events. Represent J2 Locally Be the primary point of contact for Florida clients while strengthening connections with contractors, consultants, attorneys, HOAs, and industry leaders to build a lasting presence. Grow & Mentor a Team As the branch expands, hire, train, and support junior project managers and staff - fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and client focus. Solve Problems in Real Time Apply technical expertise and practical judgment to deliver clear, timely solutions that keep projects and clients moving forward. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Proven Experience 7+ years in building envelope consulting, forensic assessment, or related construction/engineering roles, with a track record of managing projects from investigation through repair. Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of roofing, waterproofing, cladding, insulation, and related systems; ability to perform inspections, write reports, and guide clients through technical solutions. Business Development Mindset Experience developing client relationships, growing a book of business, and representing a firm in the local market. HOA boards, attorneys, community managers, and contractors should be familiar territory for you. Leadership Ability Demonstrated success mentoring staff, leading teams, and building trust with clients and colleagues. Communication Skills Able to translate complex technical findings into clear, client-friendly language; strong presentation and client-facing presence. Credentials A Florida PE license is strongly preferred. SE licensure, deposition/testimony experience, or equivalent forensic expertise are considered a plus. Education Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements This role will begin as remote-first (from your home office) with frequent site visits and eventual transition to a physical branch office. You should be comfortable with: • Traveling locally/regionally to job sites, • Performing site inspections in various weather conditions, • Navigating ladders, scaffolding, and similar access points, • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
