Job Description Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Barista/Bartender for The Vanguard Hotel in Ann Arbor, MI Pay: $16/hr + Tips About the Role: The Barista/Bartender at The Vanguard Hotel in Ann Arbor, MI plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by expertly preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages and alcoholic drinks. This position requires a blend of hospitality, technical skill, and product knowledge to ensure each guest receives personalized and high-quality service. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized workspace, managing inventory, and adhering to health and safety standards. The successful candidate will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and positive word-of-mouth. Ultimately, this position supports the hotel's reputation for excellence by combining craftsmanship with outstanding customer interaction. Responsibilities: • Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee drinks and cocktails according to established recipes and guest preferences., • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner to provide recommendations and ensure satisfaction., • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and coffee station, including equipment maintenance and sanitation., • Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and communicate needs to management to ensure smooth operations., • Comply with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations to provide a safe environment for guests and staff. Qualifications and Requirements: High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent. This job requires the ability to perform the following: • Must have a strong knowledge of drink preparation and applicable health standards., • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations and Company policy regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons., • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace., • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process., • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must possess basic computational ability., • Must possess basic computer skills., • Good knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities., • Familiarity with all menu items, • Must have knowledge of and be able to operate all equipment related to the outlet, including, but not limited to, coffee maker and cash terminal, • Most work tasks are performed indoors.
