Job DescriptionSummary of Job Purpose The tubing attendant is responsible for helping prepare the Snow Play area for the day, sending of guests down the tubing lanes and expediting those guests when they reach the bottom of the hill while ensuring that guests have a quality and safe experience. As a Snow Play attendant you will be monitoring the snow play area’s including the sledding area to ensure that all guests of all ages are able to utilize the designated areas. This position requires constant interaction with guests that may have varying abilities and will require different levels of attention. Job Duties and Responsibilities This job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities of and the qualifications for the position. Examples of Duties • Assist guests as needed with loading and unloading of tubes while maintaining a fun and safe environment, • Enforce safety regulations and rules of the hill at all times, • Follow all departmental standards/guides and operating procedures, • Setup, transport and take down signage, fencing and mats daily and as needed, • Keep Tubes stacked neatly, keep tubing and play areas clean and free of debris at all times, • Shovel and salt as needed to ensure safe walkways, • Maintain control of play area’s and tubing lanes at bottom and top, • Assists guests and employees with questions and provides answers to such., • Assist other departments as needed., • Other Duties may be assigned., • Assists with opening and closing cleaning duties, • Remove snow, snow shoveling and deicing walkways, • Attend weekly safety meetings, • Adhere to posted weekly work schedule and be prepared to begin work at scheduled time Job Qualifications • Understand and implement the Snow Play procedures as well as the Customer Service Policy of Dodge Ridge., • Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service., • Be aware of the Snow Play area’s condition., • Be well groomed and present a professional public image., • Maintain a courteous, pleasant demeanor., • Be in good physical condition, as this position requires standing for long periods of time and the shoveling of snow., • May be required at times to do heavy, awkward lifting, (up to 100lbs.-with assistance)., • Have good manual and physical dexterity skills., • Possess the ability to learn and be knowledgeable of the needs of the equipment and standard procedures for their care and safe operation., • Possess the ability to read and write legibly, and to use good composition skills to complete reports, forms, etc., • Be punctual, honest, trustworthy, and posses good judgment., • Team Work - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests; Supports everyone's efforts to succeed; Recognizes accomplishments of other team members., • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments., • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check Job Attitudes • Provide a positive and helpful attitude towards all our customers and all Dodge Ridge employees., • Maintain a clean and professional appearance, • Maintain a professional environment while at work, • Provide a positive attitude that creates a fun and exciting work environment that can be fast-paced and dynamic., • Support the Company’s policies and procedures., • Support the harmony and goodwill of the Company., • Be an effective team member for the department. Work Schedules Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees. When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week. You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snow packed, and icy road surfaces. Work Schedule • This is a seasonal position, • In-season work scheduling is dynamic and dependent upon business levels, • Typical work schedule start time is 7:30AM Saturdays, 8AM Sunday- Friday, • Scheduled work day hours vary from 2 hours to 10 hours dependent on business levels Working Conditions At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures. Work is typically performed indoors working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members and it can be noisy. At times, you may be expected to work outside were it can be cold, wet, or humid. There is also the possibility of working around moving objects and occasionally may be required to assist with snow removal using a snow shovel Uniforms A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift. Items You Must Provide: -Winter Gloves • Warm Boots, • Hat, • Sunscreen, • Sunglasses/ Goggles The skiing/riding/snow play employee represents a model for safe skiing/snow play for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing/snow play procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies.
