Job Description Staffing & Resource Planning Analyst Type: Full time; Fully Remote Reports to: SVP Talent Acquisition & Culture Position Summary Implementation Engineers is seeking a Staffing & Resource Planning Analyst to bring structure, visibility, and discipline to how consulting talent is managed and deployed across client projects. This position is not an HR or recruiting role. It is an operations planning role, similar to production planning, master scheduling, or resource management in manufacturing or multi-project environments and applied to a professional services organization. The role owns firmwide project staffing and consultant matching, supported by capacity planning and utilization management across both W-2 employees and 1099 consultants. Acting as the central coordination point between demand and supply, this role ensures staffing decisions are intentional, data-driven, and aligned to delivery quality and business performance. This is a high-visibility role and a critical scaling lever as IE enters its next phase of growth. Key Responsibilities • Demand & Capacity Planning, • Own and maintain firmwide visibility to demand, capacity, and utilization across all practice groups., • Translate project commitments, proposals, manning plans, and pipeline signals into an accurate, forward-looking staffing and capacity plan., • Maintain and update established staffing tools and templates to ensure current and future project needs, timing, and roles are clearly reflected., • Participate in regular demand and pipeline review forums to surface upcoming needs, risks, and priority shifts., • Forecast utilization, identify delivery or capacity risks, and proactively surface tradeoffs and recommendations., • Run a regular staffing governance cadence to support leadership decision-making., • Staffing & Deployment, • Own and maintain visibility to consultant skills, readiness, and availability to support effective project matching., • Match consultants to projects based on skills, timing, and priority., • Coordinate staffing transitions, including start timing and role alignment to ensure smooth project onboarding., • Partner with Practice and Project Leaders to resolve staffing conflicts, sequencing decisions, and priority tradeoffs., • Bench & Redeployment Management, • Actively manage bench time with intent and transparency to minimize idle time and support smooth redeployment., • Own the roll-off-to-redeploy process, ensuring consultants have visibility to upcoming opportunities and expected timing., • Maintain clear, proactive communication with consultants regarding pipeline outlook, assignment sequencing, and redeployment expectations., • Quality & Readiness, • Participate in the collection of performance feedback from active project engagements to inform future staffing decisions., • Maintain and refine visibility to consultant skills, experience, and readiness based on demonstrated project performance., • Partner with Practice Leaders and Recruiting to strengthen bench readiness and improve redeployment outcomes., • Ensure strong skill-to-role alignment to support delivery quality and client outcomes., • Data, Systems & Process, • Leverage, maintain, and continuously improve existing staffing and planning tools to provide clear visibility to consultant availability and bench status., • Ensure staffing and availability data remains accurate, reliable, and trusted as the firm scales., • Use data and planning views to support staffing decisions, scenario planning, and leadership discussions. Success in this role is demonstrated by predictable utilization, ongoing improvement in utilization, well-managed bench time, and strong skill-to-role matching across projects. As the function progresses, success is further reflected in fewer last-minute staffing changes, strong alignment between demand and capacity, and increased leadership confidence in staffing data and the decisions it supports. Ideal Background • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Industrial or Process Engineering, or a related field focused on planning, analytics, or operational decision-making, • Experience in production planning, master scheduling, capacity planning, workforce planning, resource management, or program management, • Background in consulting, manufacturing, or other multi-project operating environments, • Strong planning mindset with comfort operating amid ambiguity and change, • Experience with capacity planning, scheduling, or resource management in manufacturing and service-based environments, • Excellent organization, prioritization, and follow-through, • Strong planning discipline with the ability to understand and connect the bigger picture across the firm, • Ability to balance competing priorities and shifting information, and comfort operating in ambiguity, • Confident communicator who can drive alignment, surface conflicts, and enforce decisions This is a high-impact, visible role at Implementation Engineers with ownership over how consulting talent is matched, deployed, and utilized across the firm.
