INTRODUCTION: Tomarco Contractor Specialties LLP (DBA ISAT Total Support) is seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer (P.E.) to join our growing engineering team. This senior-level role requires advanced seismic design experience, technical leadership, and the ability to manage complex engineering tasks while supporting companywide engineering initiatives. You will play a key role in developing high-quality design solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with project managers, sales teams, and customers to ensure project success. Since 1977, ISAT has been a global leader in engineering innovation, fastening systems, seismic bracing, and application-specific construction solutions. We design, manufacture, and distribute non-structural engineering support systems for projects around the world. POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a highly skilled and technically driven Senior Design Engineer (P.E. Required) to join our engineering team. This role is central to delivering advanced seismic bracing designs, leading technical coordination, and supporting the development of custom engineering solutions for complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep engineering expertise, the ability to independently manage technically challenging assignments, and a strong commitment to accuracy, communication, and industry-leading performance. As a senior technical resource within the Capitol Projects Group, you will oversee critical engineering deliverables—including seismic bracing layouts, point load calculations, submittal packages, and 3D modeling coordination—while ensuring all work aligns with ISAT design standards and applicable building codes. You will also mentor junior engineers, support quoting and billing processes, and contribute to improving engineering workflows, tools, and methodologies across the department. This role requires an engineer with advanced knowledge of seismic design for non-structural components, strong AutoCAD-based skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license are required for this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Communication: • Prepare project technical communication including transmittals, coordination summaries, and follow-up correspondence through email and our project database, NEXUS., • Maintain organized and accurate project files accessible to all project personnel., • Build complete submittal packages using provided project data., • Create bracing legends for all trades and configurations, including CBC, IBC, and UFC code formats., • Seismic Bracing Layouts, • Perform kit takeoffs, including accurate counts, nomenclature, and kit IDs for quoting or ordering materials., • 3D Modeling & Coordination (Basic to Competent), • Apply point load charts and compute vertical dead loads and seismic loads., • Produce coordinated point load layouts for submittal to the SEOR., • Expected rate:, • Dead loads: 0.2–0.8 loads/min, • Demonstrate basic proficiency or ability to develop competency in:, • AutoCAD, • Revit, • Navisworks, • Bluebeam, • RISA-3D, • Enercalc, • Serve as a senior technical resource for the Capitol Projects Group, • Provide guidance in specialized engineering applications such as vibration isolation, pipe stress, thermal analysis or seismic design., • Lead technical support for quoting activities with Sales and Branch PMs., • Manage engineering billing tasks, ensuring alignment with purchase orders and billing policies., • Support the training and development of new engineers and PMs., • Assist in improving engineering workflows, tools, and methodologies., • Representing ISAT in technical discussions with clients, inspectors, and AHJs., • Demonstrate strong knowledge of:, • IBC, • ACI, • ASCE, • UFC, • Maintain deep understanding of ISAT products, assemblies, and applications., • Maintain and safeguard department equipment and devices., • Assist with onboarding, training, and procedure communication for engineering staff., • Strong communication, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills., • Ability to lead, mentor, and train engineering staff., • Able to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment., • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required., • Minimum 5+ years of relevant design engineering experience in non-structural seismic applications., • PE strongly preferred.
