This position also takes a primary role in identifying training initiatives and collaborates with the Executive Director and Program Directors of Soccer Shots to ensure that all coaches are prepared to excel in delivering coaching sessions that make a positive impact on every child that we coach and a remarkable experience for their families. Read on to learn more about the DOC's primary job responsibilities, position requirements and how to apply (To Apply: Please submit a resume and a cover letter) Primary Responsibilities: • LEADERSHIP - The DOC is responsible for leading, managing and holding accountable a high functioning team to execute in key areas of program delivery, coach training, schedules and customer service. The DOC is expected to lead weekly coaching team meetings with an emphasis on identifying and resolving programmatic, customer and team issues to ensure the coaching team of San Antonio is able to operate and improve effectively and efficiently., • COACH DEVELOPMENT - The DOC takes a primary role in recruiting, hiring, training, onboarding, developing, and retaining coaches. Such tasks include: networking for new hires, interviewing, scheduling and shadowing new recruits, co-leading sessions with coaches-in-training, leading coaching clinics and trainings and performance management. Remarkable coaches are the DOCs number one priority., • CURRICULUM REVIEW - The DOC is responsible for having a thorough knowledge of Soccer Shots curriculum and will train and evaluate coaches in its implementation. Training includes providing tips and tricks to Coaches on implementation. Evaluation includes identifying revisions to curriculum to ensure the delivery of exceptional programming., • INSTRUCTOR ROLE - As the Soccer Shots DOC, you will be required to coach at any San Antonio area site, per the direction of the Soccer Shots owner, Director, or per the need or absence of another instructor., • SCHEDULING - The DOC manages all aspects of scheduling coaches each season. This includes identifying and assigning coaches to meet program requirements; developing schedules to address coaching development; responding to and resolving unanticipated scheduling issues., • SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND RELATIONSHIPS - The DOC will be responsible for helping with the management and relationships of schools currently overseen by the Soccer Shots office and any new sites. Maintaining and enhancing school relationships is a top priority of all team members at Soccer Shots., • MARKETING SOCCER SHOTS - The DOC will help to market Soccer Shots to the greater San Antonio community., • Coaching Managers, • Coaching Coordinators, • Commitment to the mission of Soccer Shots to positively impact childrens lives; passion for the game and making a positive impact in each childs life, • Ability to consistently exhibit, share and communicate companys core values: hustle, be mindful, have fun, make a difference, be a team player and pursue excellence, • Knowledge and ability to convey/train best practices for early childhood expectations and development, • Ability to lead, develop and hold coaching staff accountable to high performance standards, • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills: comfortable and confident interacting, speaking, leading and engaging with a variety of people ranging from toddlers to school directors in small and large group settings, • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and multi-task without getting easily stressed -- must stay balanced, • Ability to be imaginative and identify new ways to engage and maintain a childs interest, • Creative problem solver; the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and think outside the box, • Dedicated to customer satisfaction and a commitment to exceeding expectations, • Prompt and timely in all aspects of the business, including communication with both customers and Soccer Shots staff; attention to detail is a must, • Commitment to develop, improve and grow (individually and organizationally) on a daily basis, • Highly motivated Required Experience and Education • Bachelor's Degree, • Minimum 2 years working with children between ages of 2 - 8 years old, • Knowledge of early childhood curriculum and development best practices, • Minimum 2 years youth soccer coaching experience, • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, • Soccer enthusiast; loves and honors the game, • CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to get certified within 30 days of hire, • Pass DFPS and FBI fingerprinting and background check, • This is a full-time, exempt position. During seasons, expected working hours will vary and will include working on Saturday mornings and some weekday evenings. Physical/Work Environment Requirements: • Functions in a temperature controlled office environment a portion of the time., • Work requires ability to sit, stand and walk throughout an extended work day (8 10 hours); position requires use of fingers, hands and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position may need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers and phone conversations., • Position functions in an inside/outside sports environment a portion of the time throughout the year which may include temperatures of extreme heat or cold., • Work requires ability to run, stop, stoop, bend (a physical, exercise type regimen) in a minimum of 40 minute increments per session.
