Summary The Director of Facilities provides leadership and oversight for the design, operation, and maintenance of the company’s oil and gas production facilities. This role ensures facilities are operated efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements while driving capital projects, maintenance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives that support production goals and long-term asset value. Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions -\tProvide strategic oversight for the design, construction, operation, and optimization of upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities, including well pads, gathering systems, production equipment, processing facilities, and associated infrastructure -\tLead and review facility design standards, layouts, and engineering deliverables to ensure safety, operability, scalability, and cost efficiency -\tPartner with Operations, Engineering, Production, and HSE to align facility designs and modifications with field development plans and production objectives -\tMaintain regular field presence to assess facility performance, identify operational risks, and prioritize maintenance, reliability, and improvement initiatives -\tOversee execution of facility capital projects and major modifications, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, contractor management, and commissioning -\tEnsure facilities comply with applicable regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements; serve as a key point of contact during inspections, audits, and agency interactions -\tProvide leadership and direction for instrumentation, electrical, construction, and maintenance functions to ensure reliable operation of critical equipment and systems -\tEstablish and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime, extend asset life, and improve reliability -\tLead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions -\tEvaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, data visibility, and cost control -\tManage facilities-related operating and capital budgets, identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising safety or reliability -\tDevelop, mentor, and hold accountable facilities and maintenance leadership to foster a culture of safety, ownership, and continuous improvement -\tStay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure facilities strategy supports long-term asset value -\tManage and oversee the implementation and operation of the SCADA system for all facility capital projects Education & Experience (required) -\tBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical field. -\t10+ years of progressive experience in facilities, maintenance, construction, or operations within upstream oil and gas. -\tProven experience overseeing design, construction, and operation of production facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. -\tStrong understanding of production processes, facility systems, instrumentation, electrical, and I&E standards. -\tCore knowledge of artificial lift systems including the design and implementation of gas lift, jet pump, rod pump, and ESP. -\tExpertise in Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), cause-and-effect diagrams, and system controls/automation. -\tKnowledge of process safety design, including PSV sizing and equipment sizing. -\tDemonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, managing contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Education & Experience (preferred) -\tMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical field. -\t15+ years of progressive experience in facilities, maintenance, construction, or operations within upstream oil and gas. -\tExperience with engineering design and project management software such as Bluebeam, ProMax, or similar tools. -\tPrior experience in consulting engineering or leading multi-discipline engineering teams on complex facility projects. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, it is the expectation that the selected individual will be available at the work location. No relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position. Work Environment This position operates in an office environment. This entails working inside in an office space wherein employee may be provided a public work station (cubicle) or private office. From time to time, the role will require field visits where exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered. Physical Demands In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individuals might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individuals might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position. Position Type and Working Hours This is a full-time position. We operate on a 9/80 work schedule. Typical work hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on working Fridays. Employee must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and to participate in occasional meetings, events, seminars, conferences, or other activities outside of typical work hours.
