Job Description Why This Role Matters: As a seasoned energy professional, the Energy Solutions Engineer identifies business opportunities as well as provide technical leadership in the analysis and optimization of building HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across CPL’s diverse practice areas. This regional role performs benchmarking, audits, feasibility studies, and utility bill analyses; develops energy conservation measures; and supports implementation planning across a wide range of project types and delivery models. As a senior member of the Energy team, the Energy Engineer II collaborates closely with regional MEP teams and the national Business Development function to identify opportunities, pursue funding, and respond to RFPs. What You'll do: • Identify and qualify regional opportunities, state programs, and grant/funding pathways; partner with the national Business Development team and the broader Energy team to pursue and co-develop pursuits., • Integrate and collaborate with regional office locations across Placemaking, Healthcare, Community, and Higher Education practices to establish new avenues for revenue., • Serve as the local energy resource to support National and regional practice leaders, project managers, and clients., • Integrate with Building Systems (MEP)team as the regional energy subject matter expert, coordinating energy-related scope, QA/QC, and technical delivery., • Provide technical assistance for regional and national RFP responses, including scope development, narratives, pricing inputs, and technical exhibits., • Perform initial Energy Use Intensity (EUI) benchmarking and utility bill analysis to vet prospective opportunities and quantify baseline performance., • Perform ASHRAE Level II audits and feasibility studies; develop energy conservation measures and conceptual implementation pathways., • Support clients with RFP development, technical questions, and procurement support; prepare technical review matrices and selection recommendations, as requested., • Conduct sustainable product and services research, including emerging technologies (e.g., solar PV, battery storage, electrification, controls, and analytics)., • Assist with developing repeatable processes and tools for delivering new and existing energy services., • Create incentive and grant documentation for utility, state, and federal programs, as applicable., • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or equivalent education and experience, • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with at least4years focused on Energy Engineering., • Professional Energy licensure or CEM, • Experience identifying new business opportunities and forming partnerships with potential clients., • Proficient in identifying energy saving opportunities for building systems, • Fundamental knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including mechanical and energy codes and relevant ASHRAE standards., • Experience performing energy audits and implementing energy projects, • Knowledge and experience with solarpv,battery storage, and advanced technologiesis a plus, • Ability toperform energy calculations and utility bill analyses with ease, • Aptitude for creative problem-solving, particularly in time-sensitive situations which require fast turnaround, • Healthcare for you and your family: Medical, Dental& Vision insurance.
