Job Description Career Title: Senior Vice President, Nursing Impact Department: Nursing Programs Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience FLSA: Exempt Career Summary: The American Nurses Enterprise (ANE) is seeking to hire a Senior Vice President (SVP), of Nursing Impact. The SVP of Nursing Impact is a senior leader within the American Nurses Enterprise (ANE), reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer. You will provide strategic oversight for nursing programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with ANE’s mission, values, and priorities. As an SVP, you possess the emotional intelligence and experience to influence and generate a positive impact on building and evolving a collaborative, innovative and high-performing workplace culture, within your team and throughout the enterprise. As SVP you will be accountable for strengthening programmatic and financial performance, leading enterprise impact measurement, and ensuring programs remain relevant in a rapidly changing healthcare environment. This includes anticipating future needs, setting long-term priorities, and positioning nursing to shape the future of healthcare delivery. Additionally, as SVP you will advise on policy issues affecting nursing and healthcare, manage key external relationships, and represent ANE at national and international levels—advancing the organization’s visibility, influence, and leadership across the healthcare ecosystem. What You Will Do: • Partner with the Chief Nursing Officer and leadership team to align programs and initiatives with the Enterprise’s mission, values, and strategic priorities., • Serve as senior leader for Nursing Programs, overseeing:, • Nursing Practice & Work Environment, • Center for Ethics and Human Rights, • Minority Fellowship Program, • Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation, • National Alliance for Quality Care, • Provide leadership and support to the ANA Professional Policy Committee., • Advise the Government Affairs team on issues impacting nursing, healthcare policy, and practice environments., • Manage domestic and international relationships with associations and partners, including ANA’s membership in the International Council of Nurses and the Organizational Affiliates program., • Direct departmental budget development and reconciliation, ensuring accountability for grant funding, contract compliance, and resource stewardship., • Develop and implement mechanisms to evaluate and report on the impact of ANE’s programs, products, and services., • Provide executive-level reports and data visualizations that demonstrate organizational influence on nursing, healthcare delivery, and health policy., • Identify and advance opportunities for collaboration, business development, and policy engagement., • Provide strategic support for the design, development, and distribution of products and services across the Enterprise, ensuring relevance and measuring impact across the product lifecycle., • Represent the Enterprise at conferences, summits, and forums to promote visibility and thought leadership. Qualifications • Registered Nurse (RN) with an active, unrestricted license., • Doctorate degree in nursing, public health, healthcare administration, global health, or a related field required., • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing, healthcare non-profits and/or associations, health systems, policy, or global affairs., • Minimum of 3-5 years of executive-level experience. Skills • Strong written and verbal communication, including public speaking., • Relationship-building with healthcare leaders, boards, government, and global partners., • Expertise in organizational design, project management, data analytics, and performance reporting., • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound decision-making., • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in complex environments., • Business acumen with focus on operational effectiveness., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications • Leadership experience within a professional association, credentialing body, or related programs and services., • Established authority or presence within the nursing community, demonstrated through leadership, speaking engagements, publications, or professional recognition., • Experience in global health initiatives or international partnerships., • Recognized Fellow of a national or international nursing organization. Travel Requirements • Capability and willingness to travel extensively as required., • Meets hybrid work policy including in-person leadership forum requirements.
