Position Overview The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor/Driver will oversee and manage all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely processing of materials, parts, and assemblies. This role includes driving a company-assigned vehicle to transport parts and materials to and from vendors, customers, and suppliers, while also handling duties related to material handling, packaging, and inventory management. The Supervisor will ensure that all logistics, delivery, and shipping activities align with company quality standards and timelines. This role requires both strong leadership in managing shipping and receiving processes and the ability to drive safely and effectively, ensuring on-time deliveries while maintaining safety and quality during transport. The Driver/Supervisor will also inspect parts during pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring that they meet quality standards and are transported securely. Reports to: Senior Buyer Responsibilities: • Supervising the shipping and receiving team, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of materials., • Managing the safe and timely transportation of parts and materials between vendors, customers, and internal departments., • Ensuring quality control and compliance with shipping and receiving procedures., • Prepare parts for packaging to ASTM (American Standard Packaging) standards., • Overseeing the loading and unloading of materials, both manually and using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks., • Communicating schedules, issues, and concerns with Senior Buyer to maintain operations. Job Duties • Load and unload parts onto the delivery truck with the use of lifts, carts, hooks, and other tools, • Secure parts onto the delivery truck using tools such as straps, tie-downs, and cardboard, • Visually inspect parts during pick-ups and drop-offs for any obvious non-conformances, • Match part numbers and PO numbers to shipping paperwork, • Validate the pick-up and drop-off with signed Purchase Orders, • Follow priorities as outlined by Supply Chain team to determine the order of drop-offs, • Provide a status report to the Supply Chain Manager at the end of every shift, • Report any issues which may affect delivery or quality to Supply Chain Skills • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g., rush hour)., • Strong verbal and written communication skills with vendors, teammates, and management., • Capable of following schedules and timelines with precision., • Skilled in handling and packaging high-value parts with care., • Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively., • Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems and related industry standards., • REQUIRED: Valid Class C DL drivers license with a clean driving record maintain a clean., • PREFERRED: Ability to work flexible hours based on operational needs., • REQUIRED: REQUIRED: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance as required for this position. Ongoing employment is contingent upon maintaining the clearance. Work Environment and Safety Requirements The following characteristics represent the typical work environment and conditions while performing essential job functions: • Ability to lift, move, position, and stack parts weighing up to 50 pounds regularly., • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 3 hours) and perform repetitive tasks., • Ability to push carts, cages, and lifts through the facility., • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and protective footwear for extended periods., • Ability to perform regular vehicle inspections and maintenance., • Ability to safely operate company vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations., • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards., • Proficient in MS SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Physical Requirements and General Abilities • Ability to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms, legs, and the entire body, including lifting (up to 50 lbs.), balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials., • Ability to stand for up to two hours., • Ability to push carts, cages, lifts, and other machinery through the facility regularly., • Ability to operate digital applications on devices such as tablets or smartphones., • Ability to wear PPE (including gloves, hearing protection, eye protection, protective footwear, and respirators) for up to an hour., • Ability to communicate daily updates and concerns, including hazard issues and non-conformance detection. Job Duties Shipping & Receiving Responsibilities • Oversee the packing, sealing, labeling, and preparation of materials for shipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASTM)., • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, condition, and conformance to orders., • Ensure materials are received, inventoried, and checked against packing lists, work orders, and invoices., • Update digital systems with delivery and inventory data for traceability., • Maintain organized storage and handling of materials, coordinating with other departments for materials flow., • Report discrepancies, damages, or non-conformances to the Supply Chain Manager., • Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., ITAR) and company safety procedures. Driving Responsibilities • MUST inspect the vehicle each time before use to ensure it is in safe operating condition., • Safely operate a company vehicle to transport parts, materials, and assemblies to and from vendors and customers., • Load and unload materials, ensuring they are properly secured for transport., • Inspect materials during pick-ups and deliveries, verifying part numbers and shipment information., • Report delivery issues, discrepancies, or delays to the Supply Chain Manager., • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries, in collaboration with the Supply Chain Coordinator., • Perform regular maintenance and inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition., • Communicate with the Supply Chain team and vendors to confirm schedules, deliveries, and any changes.
