Husky Mobile | A University of Washington Partner | Seattle, WA (on-site, regularly on the UW campus) | Full-time The short version You'll be the person on the ground responsible for Husky Mobile's market at the University of Washington. The job has three parts: • Sales & Campus Activation: Run our campus sales operation, from the HUB to game day, and lead the student team behind it., • UW Stakeholder Management: Be Husky Mobile's day-to-day point of contact with the university, and keep both sides aligned., • Business Development & Community Partnerships: Build partnerships across the wider UW community, from local businesses to student groups and alumni. All three serve one goal: growing Husky Mobile's subscriber base at UW. This is an on-site job. You'll spend a significant part of every week on and around campus: at the HUB, at events, with your interns, in meetings with UW staff, and in local businesses. This isn't a marketing coordinator or campus ambassador role. You'll work closely with Collegiate Mobile's leadership team, with real ownership of what happens at UW. About Husky Mobile Husky Mobile is wireless service built specifically for the University of Washington community. We offer affordable plans on a nationwide 5G network, plus UW-specific perks and partnerships for students, staff, faculty, alumni, and supporters. A portion of every subscriber's bill goes back to UW. The goal is for Husky Mobile to be more than a phone plan: a real part of UW life. Husky Mobile is part of Collegiate Mobile, a small, entrepreneurial team building a new model for university-connected wireless. That means real room to experiment, take ownership, and have a direct impact. Core responsibilities 1. Sales & Campus Activation You're responsible for turning Husky Mobile's campus presence into leads, sales, and subscribers, not just impressions. • Run the day-to-day campus sales operation, including our location in the Husky Union Building (HUB): coverage, materials, customer experience, and results., • Plan and run booths, tabling, and sales events at high-traffic moments: move-in, Dawg Daze, Husky Fest, home football and basketball games, resource fairs, graduation, and student org events. You'll handle logistics, staffing, equipment, messaging, and follow-up., • Recruit, train, schedule, and coach a cohort of student interns and ambassadors. Set weekly priorities and goals, hold team meetings and one-on-ones, address performance issues, and develop your best people into student leaders., • Sell alongside your team: talk with prospective customers, help people switch their existing numbers to Husky Mobile, follow up on leads, and test offers and messaging., • Work with our marketing team on campus social media, and direct the content your interns create at events and around campus., • Track leads and conversions by event and channel, find where prospects drop off, and fix it. 1. UW Stakeholder Management Husky Mobile only works if the university relationship works. You'll keep it strong day to day. • Serve as Husky Mobile's primary day-to-day point of contact for key UW stakeholders., • Run a biweekly meeting with those stakeholders to share updates, coordinate upcoming activities, work through issues, and identify new opportunities., • Handle the coordination in between (events, marketing assets, approvals, promotions, partnerships, and scheduling) by email and other channels., • Keep UW and Collegiate Mobile aligned: bring UW's priorities and requests back to our leadership team, make sure both sides know what was agreed and who owns it, and follow through on every commitment., • Build trust and credibility with administrators, departments, athletics, student organizations, and other key partners across the university. 1. Business Development & Community Partnerships Make Husky Mobile a bigger part of the UW community, and find new ways to reach customers through it. • Recruit UW-founded, UW-connected, and local businesses into Husky Mobile's Local Partnership Program., • Run partnerships from start to finish:, • research and prospect, • reach out in person, by email or phone, on LinkedIn or Instagram, or through warm introductions, • learn what the business needs and agree on a member benefit that works for them, • launch it and keep the relationship going, • Reach out across the wider UW community to create new sales events, activations, and partnerships. That includes student organizations, Greek chapters, residence halls, international and graduate student groups, alumni groups, student-athletes, and entrepreneurs., • Bring back what you learn: which perks students actually care about, and ideas for new ones., • Track which partnerships members use and which bring in new customers, and put your time where the results are. You'll be expected to find opportunities rather than wait for them. An existing UW network helps, but you should be comfortable building relationships from scratch. Supporting responsibilities These serve the three pillars rather than standing on their own: • Report results and issues to Collegiate Mobile's leadership team, and recommend where to spend more or less time and money., • Test new ideas and measure their impact., • Help our marketing team with partnership announcements, and keep them posted on what students are talking about. What you get • Salary, plus potential performance-based incentives, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; short- and long-term disability; and a 401(k) with company match, • Meaningful ownership of a growing business at one of the country's largest universities, • Direct management experience leading a team of student interns, • Hands-on sales, business development, and partnership experience in telecom and technology, • A direct line to Collegiate Mobile's leadership team, and the autonomy to turn your ideas into real initiatives, • Relationships with UW organizations, businesses, athletes, and campus leaders, plus access to major UW events as part of the job, • The opportunity for more responsibility as Collegiate Mobile expands to additional campuses What we're looking for Required • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, • 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships, or another customer-facing role, • Comfort with sales: starting conversations with people you don't know, asking for the sale, and following up, • A professional, dependable communicator who can earn credibility with university administrators and business owners as well as students, • Ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable to goals, • Strong organization: you can juggle events, schedules, and partner follow-ups without dropping commitments, • Comfortable working independently in a small, entrepreneurial company, • Able to work on-site in Seattle, spend a significant part of each week on the UW campus, and work some evenings and weekends around major campus events Strongly preferred • A UW degree. Much of this job, especially partner outreach, starts from a genuine UW connection., • Existing relationships with UW student organizations, departments, athletics, Greek life, or other campus communities, • Experience managing interns, ambassadors, or student employees, • Experience negotiating or managing partnerships, • Event or experiential marketing experience, • Startup or small-company experience, • Experience with CRM, project-management, or analytics tools Who thrives here You're the kind of person who walks into a room full of strangers and thinks, "Who should I talk to?" You're comfortable making the first call, sending the cold email, approaching the student organization president, walking into the local business, and recruiting the intern. You know trust gets built through follow-through: doing what you said you'd do, when you said you'd do it. And you enjoy figuring out why someone says yes, and why someone says no. You don't need to know everything about wireless. You do need to be curious, resourceful, and willing to figure things out. You'll have support and materials to start from, but no finished playbook. Part of the job is helping us build it. How we'll measure success The number that matters most is new Husky Mobile subscribers from UW. Beyond that, we'll look at: • Sales & Campus Activation: lead-to-subscriber conversion, results from the HUB and events, and intern productivity and retention, • UW Stakeholder Management: commitments delivered, issues resolved, and new opportunities coming out of the relationship, • Business Development & Partnerships: local partners live and in use, and new events, activations, and community channels that bring in subscribers The exact metrics will evolve as the business grows. How to apply Apply with your resume and a short note on why you'd be successful growing Husky Mobile at UW. We'd especially like to hear about: • A relationship with an organization, business, or institution that you built and kept strong, • A time you took ownership of something without a clear playbook, • How you'd turn Husky Mobile's campus presence into more subscribers Husky Mobile and Collegiate Mobile are equal opportunity employers. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
