Job Description Maintenance Mechanic Location: St. Helena, CA Compensation: $30–$45 per hour (depending on experience) Schedule: Full-Time About the Opportunity A respected, family-oriented wine production facility in St. Helena is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support facility operations and equipment reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining production equipment, supporting safe plant operations, and contributing to a collaborative, craftsmanship-focused culture. Job Summary Under general supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled maintenance tasks, including mechanical repair, electrical work, carpentry, and equipment troubleshooting. The role requires a solid understanding of production systems, strong problem-solving ability, and the flexibility to support off-shift work during harvest. Key Responsibilities • Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment, facilities, and systems, • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, • Provide journey-level support across one or more skilled trade areas, • Conduct carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical, and electrical repairs as needed, • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, • Operate and troubleshoot PLC-related systems, • Perform basic welding and fabrication, • Assist with installation, modification, and servicing of equipment, • Follow all housekeeping, cleaning, and safety standards, • High school diploma or equivalent, • 3–5 years of experience in a winery, food/beverage, or similar production environment, • Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training for journey-level recognition, • Strong knowledge of production equipment (presses, de-stemmers, pumps, etc.), • Working knowledge of tools, codes, and procedures in relevant skilled trade areas, • Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, • Basic welding/fabrication skills; manual mill and lathe experience a plus, • Must be able to speak, read, and write English, • Must adhere to all safety procedures and regulationsCompany DescriptionIf You’re Looking For A New Opportunity, The Recruiting And Staffing Experts At Nelson Connects Can Help.
