POSITION GOAL: The Mechanic Position performs advanced diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tasks on complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, ensuring optimal vehicle performance and safety. This role requires the ability to execute intricate maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision, delivering high-quality results. We are hiring multiple Mechanics across a range of skill levels WHY JOIN US: • Be a part of a team leading the world’s electrification of mass mobility, • Competitive Wages and comprehensive benefit package with Immediate benefit eligibility, • Paid holidays and vacation, • 401K with generous company match, • Passionate about creating a better product, a better workplace, and a better world, • Inclusive workplace culture that values and empowers team members., • On-the-job training in a continuous learning environment (we invested $15.9 million in 2024), • Advancement opportunities within our family of companies Engine Diagnosis and Repair including: • Heating and Air Conditioning Systems: Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs to maintain system functionality., • Electrical Components: Resolve issues in alternators, generators, and voltage regulators to ensure electrical systems remain operational., • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, such as gauges, interior and exterior lights, and electric motors, addressing minor electrical issues for proper system function., • Perform routine lubrication tasks, including engine oil/filter changes, air filter replacements, and chassis lubrication, ensuring vehicle reliability., • Change transmission fluid and filters, check differential fluid, and replace tires, maintaining optimal vehicle performance., • Assist in glass installations and perform basic body repairs, ensuring high-quality workmanship and structural integrity WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: • 5-10 years of experience in automotive, diesel, or related fields, with preferred knowledge of engine, driveline, and electrical systems, • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Air and Passenger endorsements is preferred but not required., • High-Voltage (HV) Safety Certification and HV Maintenance/Repair Training are highly desired for work on hybrid and electric vehicles., • Diagnostic Tools: Utilize systems like Vansco, Cummins INSITE, and other diagnostic tools to assess and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring accurate and efficient diagnoses., • Precision Tools: Employ equipment such as hydraulic presses, pullers, manometers, tachometers, decelerometers, and VOA instruments to perform intricate maintenance and repair tasks with high accuracy., • Measurement and Calibration Tools: Use dial indicators, micrometers, reamers, and hones to fine-tune components and ensure precise measurements during repair and calibration processes., • Pumps and Testing Equipment: Apply vacuum and compression pumps to test engine performance, identify issues, and ensure engines meet operational standards., • Fleet & Data Management Software: Operate platforms like Oracle and Fleetio to track maintenance activities, input work orders, and manage fleet data, ensuring streamlined operations and up-to-date records., • Strength and Endurance:, • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance., • Perform repetitive tasks, including bending, kneeling, and crouching, throughout the workday., • Mobility and Dexterity:, • Must have the physical ability to climb ladders, work on elevated surfaces, and access tight or confined spaces to service vehicles., • Proficiency in using hands and arms to handle tools, manipulate small components, and operate equipment with precision., • Standing and Movement:, • Must be able to stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time (up to 8+ hours)., • Visual and Hearing Acuity:, • Adequate visual ability to read diagnostic screens, inspect parts for defects, and identify color-coded wires and components., • Hearing capability to detect unusual vehicle noises, alarms, or other diagnostic indicators., • Environmental Factors:, • Work may be performed in varying conditions, including exposure to loud noises, vibrations, dust, fumes, and temperature fluctuations., • Comfortable wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots, for extended periods.
