Job Description Job Summary: The IT Manager at Reader Precision Solutions is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all information technology functions across the organization, with a strong focus on supporting a high-tech manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on technical responsibilities in systems and network administration, cybersecurity, and compliance management with leadership duties, including mentoring and developing the IT Support Technician. The IT Manager ensures that all systems, networks, and data remain secure, reliable, and aligned with company needs to support production, client services, and business operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Systems & Network Administration • Manage, configure, and maintain servers, networks, shop floor PCs, and connected CNC/ ERP systems., • Ensure reliability and uptime of manufacturing systems critical to operations., • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls across business systems., • Oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans., • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated hardware, software, and connectivity issues., • Implement and monitor security protocols including firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection, and endpoint security., • Ensure compliance with industry-specific standards and regulations (e.g., CMMC, ITAR, ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.)., • Regularly conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing coordination, and system audits., • Manage incident response planning and coordinate corrective actions in case of breaches or system threats., • Train staff on cybersecurity best practices and ensure adherence to policies., • Administer ERP systems and ensure smooth integration with shop floor equipment., • Work with manufacturing leadership to improve workflows through IT solutions., • Lead IT-related projects (system upgrades, ERP enhancements, cybersecurity initiatives, etc.) from planning to execution., • Manage vendor relationships for IT services, hardware, software, and telecommunications., • Supervise, mentor, and train the IT Support Technician, creating a career growth path and providing regular performance feedback., • Delegate daily support tasks while ensuring accountability and skill development. Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)., • 5+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity., • Proven hands-on experience in systems and network administration., • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, compliance standards, and best practices., • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting., • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills., • Experience in a high-precision machining, aerospace/defense, or healthcare supplier environment., • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and ISO 9001 / AS9100., • Industry certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCNA, or similar)., • Fully onsite position in a high-tech machine shop environment., • Requires movement between office and production floor to provide IT support., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for hardware installation and equipment relocation., • Regular exposure to shop floor environment with manufacturing noise levels.
