Position Overview The Director of Development reports directly to the Executive Director and leads all aspects of fundraising for Tulsa SPCA. This position is responsible for building and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes major gifts, annual campaigns, planned giving, grants, special events, and corporate partnerships. The Director of Development will cultivate relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners throughout northeastern Oklahoma while strengthening Tulsa SPCA's donor base and philanthropic support. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Leadership • Develop and implement the organization's annual development plan, including goals, strategies, and performance metrics., • Partner with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to expand philanthropic support., • Lead fundraising efforts including major gifts, annual campaigns, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and grants., • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at all giving levels., • Maintain and actively manage a portfolio of approximately 50 major donors., • Build relationships with foundations, corporations, community organizations, and individual donors., • Manage the grants program, including research, writing, reporting, and stewardship., • Oversee the development calendar to ensure timely submission of grant proposals and reports., • Plan and oversee several donor cultivation events and fundraising events annually., • Recruit sponsors, secure attendees, and help promote events through marketing and community partnerships., • Oversee the fundraising database and ensure accurate tracking of donor activity and contributions., • Manage vendor relationships related to development operations and donor systems., • Track fundraising performance and provide regular reports to leadership., • Serve as a member of the leadership team and participate in organizational planning., • Collaborate with staff and Board committees on fundraising initiatives and strategy., • Work with marketing and communications to ensure consistent messaging across fundraising campaigns., • Support staff and volunteers in understanding their role in fundraising and donor engagement. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience • Bachelor's degree required., • Minimum five years of nonprofit fundraising experience., • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising., • Experience with major gifts and donor cultivation., • Capital campaign experience preferred., • Familiarity with the Tulsa philanthropic community is highly desirable., • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor databases (eTapestry preferred)., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment., • Primarily an office setting when not working offsite events or assisting with special projects., • Exposure to odors, wet, humid, and dusty conditions, airborne particles, fur, hair, animal waste, and various cleaning chemicals and supplies., • May be exposed to sick, injured, and aggressive animals., • Ability to bend, walk, reach, push, pull, sit, and stand for extended periods of time., • Travel to area events/locations in year-round weather conditions., • Noise level is moderate to high., • Possibility of being bitten or scratched by animals., • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs – loading and unloading for events, bags of dog/cat food for in-kind room, etc. SCHEDULE FT position, schedule can vary. Weekends, evenings, and holidays will be required at times.
