What You’ll Bring: • Champion for FMLA, ADA, & complex leave administration, • Full‑cycle recruitment pro — from sourcing to offer, • Expert at navigating accommodations with care & compliance, • Bilingual English/Spanish — supporting a diverse workforce, • A people-first mindset + strong HR partnership skills SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Senior HR Generalist partners with plant leadership to ensure that the people and the people systems are aligned and are working to support Operations in meeting their business goals and objectives. This role includes but is not limited to overseeing and administering leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans. Additionally, they will perform full life-cycle recruitment to meet staffing goals across various functions within the organization. The position will manage and support the entire life cycle of recruiting to include posting jobs, sourcing and screening candidate resumes, providing guidance to managers, as well as developing and extending offers to candidates. WAGE: $93,000.00 - $98,00.00 annually, subject to all required taxes and withholdings. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Employee Care – employment resource/service, policy interpretation, employee communications including ensuring translation services when needed, employee events, is responsive to employee concerns and helps support employees in identifying alternatives and solutions, ensures a healthy and rewarding work environment, administers employee reward and recognition programs., • Regulatory Compliance – is familiar with all areas of HR compliance and knows when to seek out additional information in areas such as FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, etc. Ensure consistency in compliance with state and federal labor and employment laws as well as company policies and guidelines. Educates supervisors and managers to ensure that the company liability is minimized., • Employee Relations – assists HR Manager as needed with employee related issues, educates regarding potential liability, supports management in working through individual employee issues. Interprets and explains human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards or regulations., • General Administration – conducts exit interviews, generates reports on teammate related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, headcount and turnover rates as needed. Leaves/ADA: • Manages the leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use., • Facilitates accommodation requests under the ADA., • Advises managers and employees on the interaction of the various leave entitlements and the ADA., • Interprets, administers, and ensures compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, human resources policies and procedures., • Communicate with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave., • Drafts and/or recommend revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations., • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices., • Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files., • Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws. Recruitment: • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for exempt and non-exempt positions including manager intake meetings, design and placement of internal and external advertisements; sourcing and networking with candidates; pre-screening resumes, phone screens, reference checks, delivering offers, and negotiating rates., • Primary contact with the temporary agencies, manages the temporary vendor relationship and coordinates and participates in the temporary vendor selection process., • Build a pool of passive and active candidates for multiple positions, focused on hard to fill roles. Activities to support pipeline development and successful hires may include a variety of sourcing efforts such as cold calling, active networking, employee referrals, social media, strategic advertising, etc., • Partner with department hiring managers to develop and implement staffing strategies. Help managers understand staffing needs based on production forecasts and the use of the variety of staffing options (full time, part time, agency support, etc.)., • Coaches hiring managers on best practice talent acquisition processes including interview questions, recruiting processes, networking, use of systems (HRIS and otherwise), affirmative action, employment law, competitive market pricing and compensation practices regarding new hires, on boarding, etc., • Utilize various resources to maintain a talent pool including applicant tracking system, LinkedIn, social media, job boards, colleges, universities, local community marketing, and other related recruiting tools., • Manage all open requisitions and fill positions in a timely manner., • Ensure that all recruitment and selection procedures adhere to federal and state laws., • Performs other related duties as assigned., • Back Up: The Senior HR Generalist acts as a back-up to the HR Coordinator QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field strongly preferred, or equivalent experience., • PHR/SPHR, CP/SCP certification preferred., • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in Human Resources., • Experience supporting a multi-lingual manufacturing environment preferred., • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems., • General knowledge of Human Resources processes, state and federal laws and regulations., • Must be bilingual: English/Spanish, • Microsoft Office computer software applications at a medium to expert user level., • Must be able to multi-task with ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines., • Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required., • Maintain discretion in working with confidential information and materials., • A self-starter who is motivated and able to set and meet deadlines., • Friendly, approachable demeanor with strong emphasis on customer service., • Excellent oral and written communication skills, • Independent decision maker, • Creative thinking skills – generates new ideas and is solution oriented PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
