Job Description Job Title: Machine Operator I – Aerospace Manufacturing (Day Shift) Job Description This entry-level Machine Operator I role supports aerospace manufacturing operations on a day shift schedule from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You will operate CNC tube bending and deburring equipment and work within a specialized production environment focused on precision, quality, and safety. Prior tubing experience is not required, as comprehensive on-the-job training is provided. Please use this link to book a meeting with me: https://talentassistant.aerotek.com/assistant/bookings/0wmDFL_K Responsibilities • Operate tube deburring equipment and fitting installation equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety standards., • Perform machine programming and Vision Measurement Machine (VMM) programming to support accurate production and inspection activities., • Fabricate, handle, and move materials to meet production schedules, lead times, and workflow requirements., • Monitor equipment performance, identify issues, and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain productivity., • Set up, calibrate, and adjust machines to ensure proper operation and adherence to tight aerospace tolerances., • Use precision measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product quality., • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure correct dimensions, configurations, and specifications are met., • Ensure all products meet aerospace quality and compliance standards, including adherence to AS9100 and related requirements., • Coordinate material handling and shop floor workflow to support efficient production and on-time delivery., • Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to resolve equipment or process issues and implement improvements., • Participate in process development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality., • Apply strong attention to detail and quality focus in all tasks, including documentation and inspection activities., • Follow all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and quality control procedures in the manufacturing environment., • Manage time effectively to adhere to production schedules and meet daily and weekly output targets., • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining communication with team members and supervisors., • Perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods while maintaining safe and efficient work practices. Essential Skills • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machine operation and mechanical systems., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications., • Strong attention to detail and quality focus in a precision manufacturing environment., • Capability to use hand tools and basic shop equipment safely and effectively., • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control procedures in a manufacturing setting., • Comfort working standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks., • Basic computer skills for operating machine interfaces and completing documentation., • Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to production schedules., • Problem-solving skills to support troubleshooting of equipment and process issues., • Safety awareness and commitment to following PPE requirements and safe work practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent (required for both Level 1 and Level 2)., • Aerospace manufacturing exposure, particularly in high mix, low volume environments., • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, including AS9100 and tight tolerance requirements., • Experience with machine setup, calibration, and troubleshooting., • Experience with VMM programming and use of Vision Measurement Machines., • Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges., • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies., • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills related to mechanical systems and equipment performance., • Experience with CNC tubing machines or automated manufacturing equipment (preferred for Level 2)., • Certification in machine operation or industrial maintenance (preferred for Level 2)., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standards., • Experience coordinating material handling and shop floor workflow to support production efficiency., • Understanding of process development and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment This role is based on a manufacturing floor in an aerospace production facility, operating primarily on a day shift schedule from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The work involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and handling materials and components throughout the shift. The noise level can reach up to 89.4 decibels, so OSHA-approved hearing protection is required. Standard personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn as directed, contributing to a safety-focused environment. You work around CNC tubing equipment, deburring machines, precision measurement tools, and Vision Measurement Machines, with an emphasis on tight tolerances and aerospace-quality standards. Occasional extended hours may be required to support production schedules, testing, or critical deadlines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
