Job Description Job Title: Manufacturing Planner Team Lead Job Description The Manufacturing Planner Team Lead oversees a planning team responsible for establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the production schedule. This role works closely with operations and cross-functional partners to create and execute manufacturing plans that meet customer service goals, optimize resource and capacity utilization, and support effective inventory management. The position combines people leadership, hands-on production planning, and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Lead and manage the planning team, including receiving material handler, inventory coordinator, and converting scheduler, to ensure effective coordination of production activities., • Establish production orders based on customer demand and make-to-stock requirements for wipes, aligning with inventory targets and ensuring availability of in-process materials to support finished goods., • Meet at least weekly with the Converting Scheduler to ensure on-time in-full (OTIF) performance and high levels of customer satisfaction., • Collaborate routinely with cross-functional converting teams to resolve delayed production for customer shipments, address component shortages, manage overtime, set priorities, and solve identified production issues., • Monitor converting schedule performance against the production plan to manage priorities, identify operational delays, and recommend corrective actions., • Direct the quality team on rework production orders to meet specific customer order requirements and timelines., • Initiate and manage prioritization of customer demands with the sales team when plans or customer requirements change., • Oversee external converting production requirements to ensure customer needs are met, including coordinating new converter setups when required., • Update the weekly open order report, providing clear delay reasons and status updates as necessary., • Manage finished goods inventory within converting warehouse and operations, including routine cycle counting and coordination of the annual year-end physical inventory., • Set up new converting finished goods materials in S4/HANA, including creation and maintenance of bills of material (BOMs)., • Use strong analytical and decision-making skills to make complex decisions under time constraints and with limited information, based on clear prioritization criteria., • Collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines to align production plans with operational capabilities and business objectives., • Apply advanced data access, retrieval, and analysis skills using MS Excel and other available tools to support planning, reporting, and continuous improvement., • Foster a strong team-oriented attitude and approach, promoting cooperation, communication, and shared accountability within the planning function., • Minimum of an associate-level education in a related field, with a preferred Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related discipline such as Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, or Production/Planning Management., • 3–5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, production planning, or operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment., • Proven experience with production planning and production scheduling processes., • Demonstrated management and supervision experience leading teams in an operations or planning context., • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make sound recommendations., • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines., • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with cross-functional teams and leadership., • Experience working with SAP ERP systems, preferably including S4/HANA., • Advanced MS Excel skills, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and graphs for data analysis and reporting., • Thorough understanding of production and procurement processes and how they impact inventory, capacity, and customer service., • Ability to make complex decisions with limited time and information, using clear decision-making criteria based on business priorities., • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to independently resolve problems and drive issues to closure., • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines such as operations, quality, sales, and supply chain., • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Production/Planning Management, Business, or a related discipline is preferred., • Experience in converting operations or similar manufacturing processes is beneficial., • Background in inventory management, including cycle counting and physical inventory processes., • Familiarity with setting up and maintaining bills of material (BOMs) and new material masters in ERP systems., • Experience managing external production or contract manufacturing partners is advantageous., • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities., • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement in planning, scheduling, and inventory control. The position relies heavily on ERP systems such as SAP S4/HANA and advanced use of MS Excel and other data tools for planning, analysis, and reporting. Work hours generally follow standard business schedules, with flexibility required at times to address urgent production, scheduling, or customer issues. The environment emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely communication, with an expectation of professional attire appropriate for both office-based planning tasks and periodic presence on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
