Job Description TLDR: This is a job where you get to be the boss. You will pitch your own projects, lead them, create the budget and start the next day. We are hiring you because we trust your judgement, not to micromanage you. We are a data-driven company, so ultimately, the executive team gets involved only when results are unexpected. Otherwise, you get to lead and get support from all of us. This work environment is casual and everyone's opinions are heard; we are more flat in hierarchy than most companies. About Us We are a premier express car wash brand based in Texas, dedicated to delivering fast, high-quality, and eco-friendly car wash services. Our mission is to provide exceptional customer experiences while fostering strong community ties across the state. Guided by our core values of community, collaboration, and curiosity, we’ve grown from two to six locations in one year and aim to expand to 15 locations by the end of next year. We’re seeking a strategic, creative Social Media & Community Engagement Manager to drive brand awareness, engage Texas car wash customers, and build community trust in a dynamic, startup-like environment. Job Summary The Social Media & Community Engagement Manager will lead the development and execution of integrated social media and community outreach strategies to elevate our brand, drive customer engagement, and promote our express car wash services. This role demands a strategic thinker with expertise in social media platforms, content creation, analytics, and the Texas market. The ideal candidate is fueled by curiosity, thrives on collaboration, and is passionate about building community connections. With a problem-solving, "I-can-figure-it-out" attitude, they seek perfection without needing to be perfect, generating innovative projects with minimal oversight to support our rapid growth in a fast-paced, non-traditional environment. Key Responsibilities * Content Creation: Develop, create, and schedule engaging content (posts, videos, stories, reels, etc.) for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn, tailored to Texas car wash customers. Drive to our locations to capture real-time photos and videos, interact with customers and staff, and create content for grand openings and events. * Brand Voice: Maintain a consistent, authentic, Texas-friendly brand voice that reflects our core values of community, collaboration, and curiosity, resonating with local audiences and emphasizing quality, convenience, and eco-friendliness. * Community Engagement & Outreach: Act as a community manager by monitoring social channels, responding promptly to comments and messages, and fostering positive interactions to build loyalty and trust. Engage with local community leaders, businesses, and organizations to enhance brand awareness and trust through partnerships, sponsorships, and local events. * Campaign Management: Ideate and execute creative social media campaigns, contests, and partnerships, leveraging influencers and contractors to drive traffic to our locations and boost customer retention. Utilize SMS and email marketing tools for integrated campaigns. * Analytics & Reporting: Track and analyze social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, conversions) using tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or platform insights. Develop and present data-driven recommendations to stakeholders, detailing campaign success metrics and optimization strategies. * Long-Term Strategy: Create a year-long content strategy and calendar to guide social campaigns aligned with brand, sponsorship, and sales goals, ensuring timely and relevant content for Texas audiences. * Local Marketing: Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to align social media and outreach efforts with local events, sponsorships, and community initiatives, requiring on-site visits for insights and content. * Trend Awareness: Stay ahead of social media trends, platform updates, and cultural shifts, driven by curiosity to keep content innovative and competitive, leading the adoption of new technologies and strategies. * Visual Content: Work with production and graphic design teams (or create content directly) to produce high-quality visuals for profile pictures, headers, and posts, often sourced from on-site visits. Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Photoshop is a plus. * Paid Advertising: Manage social media ad campaigns, allocating budgets per location and overall business, targeting Texas demographics, and optimizing ROI using Meta Ads, Google Ads, and other platforms. * Tool Utilization: Leverage tools like HubSpot, Rinsed, Asana for project management, and Google Suite for productivity and collaboration. Manage games and prize distributions hosted on social platforms. * Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with marketing, operations, and site managers to align strategies, recruit influencers or spokespeople, and support business objectives like location expansion and customer retention. Contribute to non-social media marketing tasks as needed, embracing a collaborative mindset. * Process Improvement: Contribute to team process improvements and mentor junior team members as the marketing team grows, enhancing efficiency and output through a problem-solving approach. Industry Engagement: Attend approximately three industry-related conferences annually to network with social media professionals and stay informed on best practices, fueled by curiosity to innovate. Qualifications * Experience: 2+ years of experience managing social media for a consumer-facing brand, preferably in the car wash, retail, or membership-based service industries. Experience in community outreach, influencer partnerships, or local marketing is highly desirable. Skills: * Proven ability to create engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn. * Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer). * Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Photoshop (a plus), Meta Ads, Google Ads, HubSpot, Rinsed, SMS, and email marketing tools. * Strong experience with Google Suite and Asana for productivity and project management. * Advanced analytical skills with a clear process for measuring campaign success and optimizing performance using data-driven insights. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for crafting a Texas-centric voice. * Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with local community leaders, site managers, and customers. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Texas market and local culture to create relevant content. Car wash industry knowledge is preferred. Attributes: Curious, creative, organized, and detail-oriented, with a strategic, problem-solving mindset and an "I-can-figure-it-out" attitude. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, non-traditional environment. We are looking for someone who seeks to be better every day; we don't expect perfection 24/7. Passion: Enthusiasm for customer service, community involvement, and eco-friendly practices aligned with our core values of community, collaboration, and curiosity. Portfolio: Must provide a portfolio showcasing successful social media campaigns, including metrics for success, processes for execution, and examples of familiarity with tools like Canva, Meta Ads, Google Ads, HubSpot or Rinsed or other CRM, Google Suite, and Asana. Examples of community outreach, influencer partnerships, or local marketing initiatives are a plus. Work Environment * Location: This position is hybrid, with 35%-50% of the week remote and in-office attendance mainly required for check-ins, strategy meetings, or campaign related meetings. On average, two days a week will involve travel to our car wash locations to capture content, interact with site managers, or engage in community outreach. * Schedule: Part-time for the first six months, transitioning to full-time thereafter. Flexibility to respond to social media activity outside regular hours and work approximately 10% of weekends for photoshoots or grand opening events. * Travel: Regular travel within Texas for events, content shoots, location visits, or community outreach. Benefits * Competitive hourly compensation during the initial part-time period, transitioning to salaried full-time after six months with opportunities for salary increases and position title advancement based on performance. * Upward mobility in a rapidly growing company, with potential for leadership roles as we expand to 15 locations by next year. * Health insurance (available upon transition to full-time). * Paid time off and holidays (pro-rated during part-time period). * Free car wash membership to all locations. * Opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding Texas brand. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to bring their authentic selves and contribute to our mission of building community trust and delivering exceptional car wash experiences through collaboration and curiosity.
