Job Description Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd or 3rd Shift (12‑Hour Schedule) Job Summary The Maintenance Mechanic supports plant operations by performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial production equipment. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and contributes to a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. The position operates on a 12‑hour shift schedule on either 2nd or 3rd shift. Primary Responsibilities • Performs diagnostic evaluations of mechanical and electrical failures on industrial machinery, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to restore safe and reliable operation., • Executes mechanical repairs using precision maintenance techniques and proper tooling, ensuring all work aligns with equipment specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal safety standards., • Completes scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance activities, including lubrication analysis, shaft alignment, belt and chain adjustments, vibration checks, and contamination control to extend equipment life., • Applies basic welding and fabrication skills to repair, modify, or reinforce mechanical components and assemblies as needed., • Supports troubleshooting of advanced systems such as PLC I/O circuits, hydraulic power units, pneumatic controls, and combustion systems, escalating complex issues to technicians or engineering when appropriate., • Reads and interprets electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals to perform installations, repairs, upgrades, and system modifications., • Conducts equipment condition monitoring, documents findings, and collaborates with operations to optimize planned maintenance windows, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve overall equipment reliability., • Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance in accordance with company standards., • Follows all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe working environment., • Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, maintenance processes, and operational efficiency.Required Skills and Qualifications, • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industrial electrical systems, and troubleshooting methodologies., • Experience with PLC logic interpretation, ladder logic diagnostics, and basic I/O troubleshooting., • Proficiency with motor control circuits, 480V industrial power systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics., • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals., • Basic welding and fabrication capabilities., • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
