Job Description About WSM WorkSource Montgomery, Inc. (WSM) is a nonprofit organization and fiduciary agent for Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act funding in Montgomery County. The non-profit organization operates the American Job Centers in Wheaton and Germantown and provides employment services to county residents who are unemployed or underemployed. Additionally, WSM engages employers in various industries throughout the county to ensure that their workforce needs are being met. Position Overview The Talent Placement Consultant-Reentry (TPC) plays a critical role in driving employment outcomes by directly referring justice-impacted job seekers to employer partners, meeting placement goals, and providing individualized job search support. The clients that the TPC-Reentry will work with are primarily justice-impacted. This position combines business engagement with hands-on client services, ensuring that job seekers are fully prepared and matched with appropriate opportunities in high-demand sectors. This position will communicate value in hiring justice-impacted population to employers. No direct reports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with local and regional employers to directly refer justice-impacted job seekers to open roles., • Collaborates with employers to understand hiring needs and facilitate direct placements into full-time, sustainable wage positions., • Tracks and meets monthly placement targets and benchmarks., • Provides individualized support to job seekers, including:, • Resume and cover letter reviews, • Mock interviews and interview coaching, • Job application assistance and follow-up guidance, • Other job search assistance as needed, • Conducts regular outreach to clients to support job search progress and identify additional service needs., • Assists clients with navigating conversations surrounding their justice involvement with employers., • Schedules and facilitates employer interviews for job-ready candidates., • Obtains timely feedback from employer interviews to deliver to candidate and Career Advisor., • Conducts site visits to employers to assess workplace environment, culture, and job requirements., • Uses labor market data and digital tools (e.g., MWE, Econoview, LinkedIn, Indeed) to identify job opportunities and trends., • Enters services and detailed case notes into the Maryland Workforce Exchange (MWE) on the date of service., • Collaborates closely with Career Services and other internal teams to ensure a seamless and coordinated client experience., • Negotiates and coordinates completion of training contracts and other workplace agreements., • Prepares and submits timely performance and outcome reports., • Participates in job fairs, recruitment events, and other initiatives that connect employers and job seekers., • Attend frequent Chamber events representing WSM and promoting workforce services to local businesses., • Proven ability to meet or exceed job placement goals., • Strong business communication and client coaching skills., • Knowledge of local labor market and in-demand industries (e.g., IT, cybersecurity, healthcare, biotech)., • Familiarity with CRM systems and workforce development databases (e.g., MWE)., • Strong organizational and follow-through skills., • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and independently manage time and priorities., • Understanding career pathways, sector strategies, work experiences, or apprenticeships., • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field preferred., • 2–4 years of experience in workforce development, talent acquisition, employer engagement, staffing, or sales., • Experience placing diverse, underserved populations into employment preferred., • Must have valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation., • Occasional evening or weekend events participation may be required., • Any offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of WSM background screenings.
