Job Description Experienced Low Voltage Alarm & Security Technician Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician with specialized experience in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of various low voltage systems.These systems include fire alarm, access control, security, IP camera/CCTV, nurse call, tenant entry, intercom, and data/network. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cabling, device installation, terminations, configuring, servicing, and maintaining these systems and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. This salaried role places an individual on track to becoming a Lead Technician/site Project Manager within 2 years. Job Functions and Key Responsibilities: • Willingness to travel (30%) within the region and out of state to complete projects for national clients as needed with prior notice. Travel time, expenses, and daily M&I per diem paid by Caspian., • Install, program, maintain the low voltage systems listed above and associated cabling., • Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on alarm systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety regulations., • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with alarm panels, sensors, and related low voltage equipment, providing efficient and effective solutions., • Configure and integrate alarm systems with network infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation with monitoring software and remote access capabilities., • Collaborate with clients to assess needs, provide technical guidance, and ensure systems meet project specifications., • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service calls, and system configurations., • Adhere to all safety protocols, industry standards, and local codes during installation and service activities., • Assist with training junior technicians and end-users on system operation and maintenance., • 1-2 years’ experience in the installation and service of one or more of the following: Structured Cabling, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Nurse Call, Fire Alarm, IP/CCTV Camera Systems. Manufacturer certifications a plus., • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electrical systems, or related field preferred., • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals., • Strong knowledge of low voltage wiring, access control systems, and security system integration., • Familiarity with network protocols and IP-based security systems., • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with strong communication and customer service skills., • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel to job sites as needed., • Ability to pass background check and drug screen., • Seeking a self-starter with great initiative and drive, a willingness to learn new systems and take on complex technology projects., • Must have basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook extremely helpful., • Demonstrate proficient writing and communication skills., • Demonstrate excellent customer service and act in a professional manner., • Must work well with little to no supervision, both individually and in a team environment., • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces., • Paid time off and holidays., • Potential sign on bonus for the right individual possessing relevant work experience and industry certifications such as BISCI & NICET.
