Job Description Job Summary: Guadalupe Union School District is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher committed to fostering creative expression and artistic exploration among elementary and junior high students. This position involves designing and implementing a comprehensive visual arts curriculum aligned with state and national arts standards to engage students and cultivate their artistic talents. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement an engaging, standards-aligned visual arts curriculum for elementary and junior high students, emphasizing creativity, aesthetic appreciation, and artistic skills such as drawing, painting, lettering, and art history., • Create an inclusive classroom environment supportive of students' academic, social-emotional, and creative development., • Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to meet diverse learning needs, incorporating various instructional activities and differentiated learning methods., • Teach proper use and care of art materials, equipment, and tools, maintaining safety and organization within the classroom., • Plan, organize, and regularly showcase student artwork in school and community exhibitions., • Regularly assess student progress, adapting instruction to meet individual student needs, and clearly communicating student growth to families and administrators., • Actively participate in professional development activities, school committees, and school-wide events., • Collaborate with colleagues and administration to integrate the visual arts into broader educational objectives and school culture., • Participate in professional development to enhance instructional practices, especially regarding the needs of culturally, ethnically, socioeconomically, and linguistically diverse student populations., • Cooperate in supervising students during out-of-classroom activities and events., • Valid California Single Subject Credential in Art, or Multiple Subject Credential with Authorization in Art., • Bachelor's Degree in Art, Art Education, or related field., • English Language Learner Authorization (CLAD, BCLAD, or equivalent) required., • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for a balanced visual arts program, including integration of technology., • Experience creating and delivering a comprehensive visual arts program appropriate for diverse developmental levels., • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish) highly desirable., • Proven ability to integrate technology effectively within the visual arts curriculum., • Physical ability to actively engage in instructional activities, including extended periods of standing, artistic demonstration, and classroom management., • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees preferred., • Competitive annual salary range: $58,369 - $102,894, based on verified experience and education., • District provides an annual contribution of $11,000 toward employee-selected health, dental, and vision insurance plans., • Additional stipends available:, • $1,000 Bilingual Certification (BCLAD), • $1,000 Doctorate Degree, • Employment Type: Certificated, Full-Time, • Length of Work Year: 186 days (10-month contract) Application Information: Interested candidates should click the "Apply" button on School Gig and submit the following documents: • Letter of Introduction, • Current Resume, • Unofficial transcripts (official required upon hire), • Copy of California Teaching Credential, • English Learner Authorization, • Three to five professional letters of recommendation
