Job Description SUMMARY Under the direction of the FVP Senior Credit Manager, the AVP Business Loan Servicing is responsible for the strategic oversight, operational leadership, and day-to-day management of the Business Loan Servicing department. This role ensures the timely and accurate servicing of a commercial loan portfolio, including SBA, C&I, CRE, and other business loan products, while directly supervising the Loan Processors, Documentation Team, Loan Support Specialist and Business Treasury Specialist. The AVP provides strategic direction and hands-on guidance across all servicing and treasury functions, ensures regulatory compliance, fosters a high-performance team culture, and serves as a key escalation point for complex servicing issues. This role bridges the strategic responsibilities of the AVP-level with the operational depth of the Manager-level to ensure seamless, compliant, and member-focused servicing operations. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of business loan servicing operations., • Oversee and directly supervise the Loan Documentation Team, Commercial Loan Processors, Loan Support Specialists and Business Treasury Specialists, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture., • Oversee the processing, documentation, and servicing of member business loans, ensuring operational accuracy and regulatory compliance., • Manage the full spectrum of post-closing servicing operations, including loan boarding, payment processing, insurance tracking, escrow administration, UCC filings, covenant monitoring, and collateral documentation., • Perform quality control on newly boarded loans and loan maintenance by verifying that accurate information has been placed in the core system., • Perform research, update applicable data, and conduct file maintenance on member business loans., • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (i.e. NCUA, SBA, etc.) and internal policies and procedures., • Develop, implement, and maintain loan servicing policies and procedures to support business goals and regulatory expectations., • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex servicing issues, including borrower requests, documentation exceptions, payoffs, loan modifications, and default management., • Collaborate with Credit, Compliance, Legal, and Lending teams to ensure seamless communication and service continuity., • Participate in audits and exams; coordinate responses and remedial actions as needed., • Lead technology and system initiatives to enhance servicing capabilities, data integrity, and automation., • Prepare regular reports for executive leadership and Board-level committees regarding portfolio performance, operational risk, and servicing updates., • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in commercial loan servicing., • Compiles and analyzes a variety of statistical reports and materials., • Primary contact for third party vendors to find solutions to problems and questions., • Responsible for overseeing the preparation of monthly and quarterly loan statistics., • Prepares monthly board and compliance reports., • Provide oversight and strategic direction for backend Treasury Services functions related to business lending, ensuring alignment with overall servicing operations., • Supervise the Business Treasury Specialist, ensuring accurate and timely execution of treasury-related activities such as wire transfers, ACH payments, and account setups., • Ensure proper integration and coordination between loan servicing and treasury functions to support seamless borrower experiences and efficient internal operations., • Collaborate with Treasury Operations and Finance to mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and resolve complex treasury-related exceptions., • Monitor Treasury Services performance metrics and workflows to identify process improvements and training needs., • Create or change policy or procedures pertaining to Treasury., • Support the implementation and oversight of treasury-related systems, services, and automation tools connected to business lending. SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS • Effectively directs and supervises assigned employees, ensuring optimal performance., • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Credit Union policies and applicable laws., • Supervisory duties include, but are not limited to, employee selection, training, coaching and discipline. Verifies employee time records and employee performance. Motivates, coaches, and evaluates assigned employees’ performance., • Establishes an environment that promotes teamwork and eliminates barriers to effectively working within the Department and across the CoastHills organizational structure., • Regularly schedules and conducts staff meetings to keep employees current on Credit Union goals, promotions, products, services, and activities. Encourages participation and open communication. QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience • 5 – 8+ years of experience in commercial or business loan servicing, preferably within a credit union or community financial institution., • 3+ years’ experience in a comparable management position. Knowledge • In-depth knowledge of credit union operations, NCUA regulations, SBA loan servicing (including 7(a) and 504 programs), Treasury and business lending best practices., • Experience working with commercial servicing and Treasury systems and core processing platforms, especially LaserPro., • Ability to interpret, analyze and assist in the implementation of regulations and procedural updates., • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills., • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures., • Ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive process improvements while maintaining a member-first mindset., • Effective member service skills. Other Skills and Abilities • Ability to be bonded., • Highly proficient in MS Office tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint., • Ability to travel, attend, and participate in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
