Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production WorkerJob Description The General Production Worker is responsible for the hands-on creation and packaging of meat products in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled production facility. This role focuses on maintaining consistent product quality, operating industrial equipment, and following established safety and sanitation standards while working as part of a collaborative production team. Responsibilities • Handle and process high-quality meats and sausages to maintain a consistent and reliable production flow., • Place sausage links into Multivac packers and operate packaging machinery to ensure accurate and efficient packing of products., • Move and navigate full and empty trolleys through the production area to support continuous production operations., • Transfer product from sticks into sausage cutters and operate cutting equipment according to established procedures., • Visually inspect meat products for quality, identify items that are out of specification, and place them into designated rework bins., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, removing debris such as meat and blood, and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times., • Set up and operate industrial machines such as cutters, metal detectors, and other production line equipment safely and efficiently., • Follow recipes and production instructions with precision, including accurate weighing of ingredients and proper labeling of products., • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to coordinate tasks, meet daily production goals, and support overall team performance., • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures while working in a physically demanding, cold food production environment.Essential Skills, • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods throughout the entire shift., • Capability to frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds., • Comfort working in cold storage environments with temperatures routinely between 30 and 45 degrees., • Strong attention to detail when following recipes, weighing ingredients, and ensuring accurate product labeling., • Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with co-workers and supervisors in a production setting., • Ability to work in a fast-paced general production environment and perform physically demanding tasks., • Understanding and application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food production facility., • Basic mechanical aptitude to operate cutters, metal detectors, and other general production and packing equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • High school diploma or GED is preferred but not always required., • Previous experience in food production, meat processing, or warehouse environments is typically preferred., • Food Handler Certificate is frequently required or considered an asset., • Experience with general labor and general production work in cold storage or meat cutting operations., • Familiarity with packing processes and working on a production line in a cold food environment., • Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job training for equipment operation and production procedures.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a cold food production facility where temperatures typically range between 30 and 45 degrees. Work is performed on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, involving frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Team members work around meat cutting, packing, and general production equipment, including cutters, metal detectors, Multivac packers, and other machinery used on the production line. Employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard safety procedures appropriate for a cold storage meat processing operation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
