Job Description Job Description: • The Quality Engineer supports the Quality group by analyzing manufacturing and quality processes, supporting technical order execution, evaluating quality data, and assisting with process improvement activities., • This role works closely with Technical Services, Quality Operations, Quality Systems, Operations, and other support functions to help translate customer, product, inspection, and process requirements into effective manufacturing and quality practices., • The position is intended to provide hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes, quality controls, customer requirements, data analysis, and quality system activities., • Through this exposure, the Quality Engineer supports immediate business needs while developing technical capability in areas such as process improvement, customer specification support, quality event investigation, raw material support, product/ process development, and quality system improvement. Responsibilities: • Support manufacturing and quality process improvement activities through process evaluation, root cause support, and implementation of best practices., • Assist with process validation, product validation, and implementation of new or revised processes, products, equipment, or system capabilities., • Support Technical Services in reviewing customer, product, inspection, and testing requirements and translating them into actionable manufacturing and quality inputs., • Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of technical order-execution documents, including MPS, CPS, ITPs, inspection plans, testing instructions, and related customer compliance records., • Support OPTICS and other quality/manufacturing systems by ensuring technical requirements, inspection criteria, lab instructions, and traceability requirements are accurately entered, maintained, and communicated., • Serve as a cross-functional support resource between Technical Services, Quality Operations, Quality Systems, Operations, IT, Procurement, and other departments to support quality, process, data, and order-execution needs., • Support investigations of NCRs, customer complaints, manufacturing deviations, supplier issues, and CPAR activities by gathering evidence, analyzing causes, and assisting with corrective action development., • Support raw material and supplier-related activities by providing data analysis, specification support, supplier performance trends, and technical input for material concerns, claims, or release decisions., • Prepare quality data packages, reports, and technical summaries for customer order closeout, internal reviews, lessons learned, audits, and improvement activities., • Develop, monitor, and analyze quality and process performance metrics to identify trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities., • Work with IT and other internal resources to improve methods for acquiring, archiving, analyzing, and reporting quality and manufacturing data., • Participate in assigned internal audits, process audits, system reviews, and compliance checks to support customer requirements, internal standards, API Q1, ISO 9001, and quality system effectiveness., • Provide training or support to personnel on quality systems, data tools, OPTICS usage, technical requirements, process changes, and improvement activities as assigned., • Promote a culture of quality awareness, continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and customer-focused problem solving across departments. Skills and Abilities: • Analyzes manufacturing, quality, process, and product data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities., • Applies logic, technical reasoning, and structured problem-solving methods to evaluate issues and support practical solutions., • Interprets customer requirements, technical documents, quality records, inspection criteria, and manufacturing information., • Communicates technical and quality information clearly and professionally in written reports, summaries, procedures, and verbal discussions., • Collaborates effectively with Technical Services, Quality Operations, Quality Systems, Operations, IT, Procurement, and other support functions., • Evaluates process performance, system capability, and quality controls to determine how changes may affect product quality, compliance, and efficiency., • Uses appropriate mathematical, statistical, and data-analysis methods to support quality decisions and improvement activities., • Organizes data, records, and technical information to support customer order closeout, investigations, audits, and lessons learned., • Supports the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing and quality systems, including OPTICS and related data/reporting tools., • Demonstrates sound judgment by considering customer requirements, compliance, operational impact, data, and business needs when supporting decisions., • Adapts to changing priorities while supporting multiple projects, investigations, customer orders, and improvement activities., • Provides training or guidance to personnel on quality tools, data systems, technical requirements, and process changes as assigned. Requirements: • Knowledge of engineering, scientific, or technical principles used to evaluate processes, products, equipment, materials, and quality performance., • Knowledge of mathematics and statistical concepts used to analyze data, evaluate variation, identify trends, and support technical decision-making., • Knowledge of data collection, data organization, reporting, and basic data visualization methods used to communicate process and quality performance., • Knowledge of problem-solving and analytical methods used to evaluate issues, compare alternatives, and support practical solutions., • Knowledge of manufacturing or industrial process concepts, including the relationship between materials, equipment, methods, inspection, and product quality., • Knowledge of technical documentation and written communication practices used to prepare reports, summaries, procedures, records, and other work-related documents., • Knowledge of computer systems and software applications used to organize, analyze, archive, and report information, including Microsoft Office and statistical or data-analysis software., • Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts, including process evaluation, waste reduction, standardization, and effectiveness measurement., • Knowledge of customer service and cross-functional communication principles needed to support internal and external customer requirements., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Preferred: • Internship, co-op, project, or work experience in a manufacturing, quality, engineering, laboratory, or industrial environment., • Experience using statistical, data-analysis, visualization, or reporting tools such as Minitab, JMP, Power BI, Excel, or similar applications., • Coursework, project experience, or exposure related to quality engineering, statistics, manufacturing processes, materials, process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, or root cause analysis., • Experience working with technical documents, specifications, procedures, test records, inspection data, or process data.
