Job Description Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor (2nd Shift) Job Description The Warehouse Supervisor oversees 2nd shift operations in a high-volume steel warehouse, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate production, packaging, and inventory activities while leading and developing a team of warehouse employees. Responsibilities • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a team of 12 or more warehouse employees on 2nd shift., • Oversee production, packaging, and shipping processes to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time., • Manage inventory levels, including monitoring stock, organizing storage areas, and maintaining accurate inventory records., • Plan and manage workflow across the warehouse to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime., • Lead, coach, and support team members to achieve performance goals and maintain high standards of quality and safety., • Monitor warehouse operations to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines., • Identify and resolve operational issues, including bottlenecks, quality concerns, and inventory discrepancies., • Collaborate with other shifts and departments to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent communication., • Proven experience supervising 12 or more employees in a warehouse or similar operational environment., • in inventory management, including tracking, organizing, and controlling stock., • Demonstrated ability to manage workflow and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced warehouse setting., • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team to meet performance and quality standards., • Hands-on experience with warehouse operations such as production, packaging, and shipping., • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail., • Experience working in steel, recycling, or heavy-duty industrial environments., • Comfort working in a physically demanding, industrial warehouse setting., • Experience in warehouse management processes and best practices. Work Environment The role is based in a steel warehouse operating on 2nd shift in a heavy-duty industrial setting. The facility can be dark and damp at times and is focused on steel handling and related warehouse activities. The environment involves active production, packaging, and inventory work, with exposure to typical industrial conditions such as noise and heavy materials. Team members work on-site with warehouse equipment and must be comfortable in a rugged, not overly polished workspace where safety procedures and appropriate work attire are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
