American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Chicago, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 02/17/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Position is in the Operating Room at a Level 1 Trauma Center, • Work scheduled as 5x8 hour day shifts from 10:00 to 18:30, • Every other weekend required, totaling two weekends per month, • One 12-hour call shift per month, on Saturday or Sunday (7A-7P or 7P-7A), no weekday call, • Mandatory floating to other units or Cook facilities within 50 miles as needed, • Patient population includes ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases, • Cerner EMR is used, • Navy blue scrubs are provided, • Team-based model used if floated outside of primary competency, • Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance, • No holiday RTO will be approved, and no RTO is granted the day before or after a holiday, • Maximum 5 days RTO allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends, • First time travelers will be considered\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IL RN license is required; pending licenses are not accepted, • Current BLS certification required, • At least 2 years of recent acute care Operating Room experience required, • Level 1 Trauma Center experience required, • Strong scrub and circulate skills required, • Experience with ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery required, • Preferred experience in neurosurgery (crani and spine), open heart/thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gynecology, • Proof of COVID vaccination required; booster not required, • Candidates must live within 75 miles of the facility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
