Job DescriptionJob Posting: Cable Technician Location: Des Moines, Iowa Pay Range: Competitive, based on experience ($18-$24/hour) Travel: Partial travel required (Cedar Rapids & Indiana Projects) *Overview: We are seeking motivated Cable Technicians to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects in data centers, commercial sites, and multi-family developments. Candidates should have experience or aptitude in low-voltage cabling and be open to partial travel to support projects across the region.*Key Responsibilities • Install, terminate, and test CAT6 and fiber optic cabling, • Dress and organize cables along trays and racks for clean, professional finish, • Assist with installation of access control systems, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems, • Read and interpret blueprints and project documents to determine cable routing and device placement, • Operate lifts safely to access overhead cable trays and mounting areas, • Travel to regional job sites as needed to support project demands, • Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with company procedures*Essential Skills & Experience, • 1+ year of experience in cabling, construction, or low-voltage installation preferred, • Ability to use hand and power tools (impact drill, wire strippers, sawzall, etc.), • Familiarity with cable testing equipment such as Fluke analyzers, • Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow blueprints, • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for projects, • Able to pass drug and back ground check (Must have clean record) *Additional Qualifications, • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working at heights, • Self-motivated with a professional and positive approach*Why Join Us, • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, retirement plans, PTO, paid holidays), • Opportunities for career advancement and professional development, • Exposure to large-scale projects in data centers and commercial environments, • Supportive, team-oriented culture with a focus on safety and quality*Work Environment & Schedule, • Indoor and outdoor work on active construction sites, • Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime depending on project needs If you’re motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to grow your career in cabling and low-voltage systems, we’d love to hear from you. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
