About the Job : Senior Lead Software Engineer Join our dynamic R&D organization as a Architect and play a key role in defining and evolving the architecture of our advanced, video-centric Content Delivery Networks. At Synamedia, we develop and operate a large-scale CDN product deployed across multiple countries, designed to serve millions of users per market and sustain multi-terabit-per-second traffic peaks. Our CDN is a critical component of the video delivery chain, directly impacting the end-user entertainment experience. As a CDN Architect, you will drive the technical vision and architecture of the platform, from Edge caching and traffic control to observability and data analytics. You will work closely with R&D, operations, network, and product teams to ensure the platform is scalable, resilient, secure, and observable by design. You will join a compact, international, and highly skilled team where architects and engineers are hands-on contributors. The open culture of the organization allows you to influence product direction, interact with customers when needed, and contribute to a production-grade, state-of-the-art CDN solution. Compensation will reflect seniority, experience, and market standards for this role. Key Responsibilities: • Define and own the end-to-end architecture of the CDN platform, from Edge to control plane and data plane, • Work closely with the Product team to design new CDN offerings and demonstrate their technical feasibility through architecture studies, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts., • Architect and operate traffic steering, routing, and configuration workflows, • Analyse and optimize network performance by implementing advanced caching solutions, data compression, and other improvement techniques., • Ensure secure communications by managing certificates and implementing appropriate access controls., • Provide high-level technical support to resolve issues related to CDN performance or configuration., • Work closely with development, network infrastructure, and security teams to ensure smooth integration of services. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, • 5+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems, • Strong expertise with Apache Traffic Server (ATS); experience with Apache Traffic Control (ATC) is a major asset, • Solid understanding of CDN architectures, Edge computing, and traffic management, • Proven experience with observability platforms, especially Prometheus, • Proven experience with containers, Kubernetes, and virtualized environments, • Experience with video streaming technologies (DASH, HLS, CMAF, codecs such as H.265, VP9) is a strong plus, • Experience with Cloud IaaS, Edge Processing, and elastic architectures, • Excellent knowledge of the network stack: IP, TCP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, and modern protocol optimizations, • Open-source contributions are highly appreciated, • Fluent in English, written and spoken.
