Key Responsibilities: Safety & Culture • Champion health, safety, and environmental standards across all operations, • Lead cultural and behavioural change initiatives to embed safety-first thinking Production Management • Organise and oversee daily production activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets, • Manage production schedules and optimise resource allocation, • Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements to maximise throughput and asset efficiency Team Leadership • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 30 staff, • Ensure training and compliance with HSE, quality, and operational procedures, • Maintain visibility on the shop floor and engage regularly with staff and contractors Process & Systems Improvement • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, • Minimise waste and enhance process reliability, • Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations Compliance & Reporting • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, safety, and quality regulations, • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audits and internal reviews, • Support CAPEX planning and manage minor projects Qualifications & Experience: • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (with strong chemical industry experience), • Minimum 5 years’ experience in production management, ideally within a chemical plant, • NEBOSH Certificate or strong understanding of HSE regulations preferred, • Proven leadership in manufacturing environments, • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, • Fluent in English and willing to travel as required Key Metrics & Accountabilities: • Safety performance, • Product quality and customer service levels, • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and asset utilisation, • Cost control and budget adherence, • Achievement of production planning targets

Continuous Improvement • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost savings, • Lead initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime 7. Project Management • Plan and execute minor projects and CAPEX initiatives, • Oversee contractor activities and ensure compliance Qualifications & Experience: • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, • 3–5 years in a supervisory maintenance role within manufacturing, • Experience in adhesives or chemical manufacturing is a plus, • Proven ability to develop maintenance strategies and manage timelines Key Skills: • Strong leadership and team management, • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and process equipment maintenance, • Experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office, • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, • Effective communication across all levels

Types of Equipment You’ll Work On As a Mechanical Engineer in this MOD role, you’ll maintain, repair, and refurbish Ground Support Equipment (GSE), the vital machinery that keeps military aircraft and vehicles ready for use. Essential Skills and Experience • Demonstrable experience in mechanical inspection, repair, and maintenance. ○ Marine or aviation ground support ○ Hydraulics and pneumatics ○ RAF Trade Group 5 or similar engineering background • Computer literate with basic proficiency in MS Office and maintenance record systems., • Holds (or is eligible to meet) EngTech professional registration in accordance with UK-SPEC. Qualifications • Level 4 qualification with an advanced/higher apprenticeship, or, • Level 3 qualification with a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant engineering experience.
