As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for the following: • Drafting and reviewing key Insurance & Non-Insurance agreements, including Binding Authority, TOBAs, Claims Handling, Supplier and Outsourcing contracts., • Providing day-to-day and ad-hoc legal advice to different Group entities., • Managing and adhering to regulatory requests and advice from the FCA, PRA and other key regulatory bodies., • Assisting in the drafting and development of policy wordings, including assisting on existing and new product development., • Building strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Underwriting, Claims, Finance and Compliance. To be successful in this role, you must be a UK qualified lawyer and have Insurance experience. Other important considerations include: • Experienced in drafting and negotiating insurance agreements., • Experience in implementing and understanding of Insurance regulation., • Be able to collaborate effectively across different functions and build holistic relationships., • Experienced in negotiating and drafting wider commercial agreements (IT, Procurement etc.)., • In-house legal experience within an Insurance environment is preferred but not essential. They are expanding their legal function with the hire of a Legal/Senior Legal Counsel to join their high-performing legal function. The role reports to a Head of Legal with over 15+ years' experience working in the Insurance industry. My client will consider a range of PQE levels for this position, from NQs through to 10 years+. This is a really hands-on and broad role, with a wide variety of work. The position will cover both the UK and global offices for the business, working closely with key internal stakeholders across the group including Finance, HR, IT, Broking and Operations. Key responsibilities of the position include: • Drafting and negotiating key commercial agreements (Insurance & Non-Insurance). This will include Procurement, Outsourcing, SAAS, TPAs, TOBAs, NDAs and Broker agreements., • Providing support around contract and policy wording, as well as assisting on the development of new policies and procedures., • Developing and implementing the companies legal & risk strategy., • Providing regulatory support alongside the companies Compliance function., • Managing ad-hoc litigation matters, including E&O claims or Commercial Litigation., • Providing ad-hoc employment advice where appropriate. To be successful in this role, you must have the following: • Strong Insurance experience, either from Private Practice or In-House.
