Role: Banking and Finance Paralegal Location: Oxford Salary: DOE Team: Dispute Resolution This is an exciting opportunity within a dynamic and ambitious law firm based in Oxford. The Banking and Finance department has built a strong reputation for handling matters involving the recovery and return of high-value assets and vehicles, as well as pursuing individuals and businesses for shortfall liabilities arising under unregulated Hire Purchase Agreements and Guarantees/Indemnities. Job Role This diverse position offers an excellent chance to join a supportive and approachable team, working closely with experienced legal secretaries, solicitors, and senior practitioners. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): • Assisting fee-earners with a range of contentious banking and finance matters, including asset recovery and shortfall claims against individuals and corporate entities., • Preparing and drafting court documents such as bankruptcy petitions, winding-up petitions, and statements of case., • Handling new enquiries from prospective clients by telephone and email., • Collaborating with senior team members to develop your expertise, with progression towards managing increasingly complex cases., • Participating in networking activities to strengthen existing relationships and support business development. Knowledge & Skills • Prior experience in Litigation – essential., • Strong IT proficiency – essential., • Some familiarity with Guarantees, Indemnities, and unregulated Hire Purchase Agreements – advantageous., • Ideally located within reasonable commuting distance of the Oxfordshire region.
