WIG is on the lookout for a dynamic events and content manager to lead our economic growth and prosperity theme to foster strategic dialogue across government, business, as well as the not-for-profit sector and higher education. Your Mission: Help drive UK growth and investment by connecting diverse sectors through purposeful engagement and thought leadership. Research and Create • Research key policy and economic trends affecting government, business, and society., • Design and deliver insightful, timely content and events that address critical national challenges., • Shape compelling event programmes that enable open, high-level dialogue among cross-sector leaders., • Manage the full lifecycle of approx. 40 high-quality events per year, from conception to execution (e.g., keynote talks, panels, workshops, and roundtables)., • Identify and secure high-calibre speakers and facilitators., • Coordinate logistics with venues and hosts, ensuring a seamless attendee experience., • Contribute to programme strategy with new content ideas and formats., • Collaborate across WIG teams to enhance user experience, particularly digital content., • Support the Marketing and Operations teams to optimise outreach and engagement. Own the Details Use our CRM to manage communications and invitations., • Managing the creation, design and logistical delivery of around 40 topical and relevant events (ranging from single speakers, multi-speaker, workshops and roundtables) across a range of sectors each year;, • Produce at least one chargeable, one-day conference;, • Generate new ideas both for owned networks and the wider WIG programme, conduct research, manage external relationships;, • Secure and liaise with high-level speakers;, • Monitor relevant external events to ensure WIG events are cutting-edge, including networking with external contacts and potential speakers;, • Event attendance involving evening, early morning events and some regional events, which may occasionally require travel and overnight stays;, • Improving user experience, particularly relating to digital content;, • Engaging with other WIG Teams, particularly with crosscutting areas such as Marketing and Operations., • Managing the delivery of their own events with the support of the Events Assistant;, • Send event invitations to WIG’s membership using the CRM system;, • Liaise with speakers and facilitators, ensuring they are fully briefed;, • Liaise with venues/hosts regarding logistical aspects;, • Manage all financial aspects including invoicing for paid-for events; Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in events management, business and management or hospitality management Competencies • Operational Delivery: Proven ability to manage complex projects independently and handle challenges under pressure., • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders across diverse audiences and excellent oral and written communication skills., • Collaboration: A strong team player who works effectively across functions, with an understanding of team dynamics., • Strategic Thinking: Ability to generate new ideas, innovate, and pragmatic solutions to problems. Managing challenge with a positive and can-do approach and supporting organisational change., • Leadership: High emotional intelligence, capable of coaching others and influencing internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable stepping into management roles as needed., • Project management: Consistent focus on operational detail with high attention to detail and excellent organisational skills, showcasing the strong ability to multi-task., • A minimum of 3 years of experience in event management or conference production, • Experience of curating and running a portfolio of Events across one or more: International relations, politics, political economy, finance, economics or technology, • Experience of event management in one or more organisational environments/industries: charities, membership/training organisations, public sector or third sector, • Experience of producing written materials such as speaker notes, event summaries/write-ups, event briefings, and promotional content, • Experience of using a database and conducting research
