Age UK Tunbridge Wells is seeking caring and reliable individuals to join our Independent Living and Dementia Support Team. This rewarding role supports older clients to remain independent, safe, and comfortable in their own homes. About the Role You will provide practical and social support to older people, including those living with cognitive decline, helping them to maintain independence and wellbeing. This is a community-based role offering flexibility and meaningful work. Key Responsibilities • Providing light domestic support, • Accompanying clients on shopping trips, • Supporting clients to attend medical appointments (GP or hospital), • Assisting clients to keep household correspondence and paperwork up to date, • Offering social interaction, companionship, and emotional support, • Delivering 1-to-1 support for clients living with cognitive decline through enjoyable and stimulating activities Please note: This role does not involve personal care or meal preparation. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across various facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. Hours Monday's, Wednesdays & Fridays 10am -3pm (15hrs per week) Responsibilities Perform cleaning duties in designated areas, ensuring all surfaces are clean and well-maintained. Dust, mop, sweep, and vacuum floors to maintain a tidy environment. Clean and sanitise restrooms, kitchens, and communal areas regularly. Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with company policies. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Provide excellent customer service by addressing any queries or concerns from clients. Follow health and safety regulations while carrying out cleaning tasks. Qualifications DBS essential Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred but not essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English. A proactive attitude with a drive to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
