You will provide direction, management, and support to the delivery team of 13; which include 4 Waking Night Staff, and a Peer Mentor. Ensuring that safe levels of staffing is always provided and we deliver on the aims of crisis intervention and prevention. Applications are invited for the post of Substantive Consultant Neuro-Ophthalmologist at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB). The post will be based on a full time 10 PA fixed term contract. This post has been created to contribute to a tertiary specialist neuro-ophthalmology service receiving referrals for afferent and efferent disease from across the region and more widely, working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Ophthalmology is located at four hospital sites as part of UHB which are: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB), Heartlands Hospital Birmingham (HHB), Solihull Hospital (SH) and Good Hope Hospital (GHH). Neuro-ophthalmology is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There are more than 40 substantive consultants who provide an outpatient and surgical service. The entire range of Ophthalmology sub‑speciality clinics are provided and there is a close communication with consultants in other specialities. As well as consultant ophthalmologists the eye service is supported by ophthalmic specialist trainees, staff-grades, fellows, orthoptists, optometrists, ophthalmic nurses, nurse specialists, and ophthalmic technicians. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a tertiary neurosciences centre with inpatient neurology and neurosurgery, neuro‑oncology and neuro‑radiology, providing regional skull base and pituitary, neurovascular, and CSF multidisciplinary teams, that the post holder will be embedded with. This is a post to support UHB Ophthalmology services in Neuro‑ophthalmology and the successful applicant will be expected to establish a service to help meet the clinical requirements of the emergency workload from across the region. We are seeking to recruit a full-time Specialty Doctor Psychiatrist who is committed to working with young adults aged 18-25. This post is to provide medical cover and leadership within the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHT). The Team forms part of the overall urgent care mental health provision in the city of Birmingham and works closely with other providers and services such as A&E based mental health services (Psychiatric Liaison Team (PLT), Custody Liaison and Diversion services, PDU (Psychiatric Decisions Unit), Place of Safety Unit at The Oleaster Centre, Street Triage, Ambulance and Police services.
