Role: 3rd Line Support Engineer Work Pattern: On-site (with client visits) Salary: £35,000-£45,000 Location: Skelmersdale A growing MSP is looking for a skilled 3rd Line Support Engineer to act as the technical escalation point for its service desk. This role suits a confident, solutions-focused engineer with strong troubleshooting ability and broad technical expertise. You’ll be joining a close-knit and supportive company, which place value on internal progression opportunities. Key Responsibilities • Handle complex technical escalations and support junior engineers., • Deliver advanced troubleshooting across cloud services, networking, servers, security tools, and endpoint management., • Drive service improvements by refining standards and processes., • Lead root-cause investigations and ensure long-term fixes for recurring issues., • Support technical projects including migrations, onboarding, and infrastructure upgrades., • Liaise with vendors and partners to resolve challenging issues., • Maintain and improve internal documentation and knowledge resources., • Provide technical insight for internal teams and client reviews. Skills & Experience • Previous experience in a senior or 3rd line role (MSP experience preferred)., • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, routing), firewalls, cloud services, and backups., • Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to continual service improvement.
