The role We’re looking for an Senior Buyer - Intimates 12 months Maternity Cover to join our team. We’d also welcome applications from experienced Buyers ready for a step up. The Senior Buyer is responsible for planning, sourcing, developing and selecting a commercial and successful range. They must use their knowledge and expertise to understand our customers’ wants and needs and create a strong multi-channel offering, whilst taking into account budgets and margin requirements. Overall the Senior Buyer’s role is to build a range which both meets and exceeds the customers’ expectations, whilst maximising profits and revenue The role will lead the planning, sourcing, development and selection of a commercial and successful product range, building a strong multi-channel offer that meets customer needs while delivering against sales, margin and profit targets. A day in the life of an Senior Buyer • Lead the buying strategy for the Lingerie category, delivering a customer-focused, commercially balanced and trend-led product range aligned to brand strategy and customer demand., • Drive category performance and KPIs across multiple product areas, identifying opportunities, delivering margin and profit through strategic planning and responding to trade performance., • Constantly reviewing competition to ensure our product proposition is in line with the market across all key areas: fashion trend, price, quality and availability., • Work closely with Design to interpret trends, customer insight and product opportunity into commercially relevant seasonal ranges across silhouette, fabrication, colour and price point., • Partner with Merchandising to drive department sales and strategy, taking ownership of category performance including sales, BIM, pricing architecture and profitability., • Lead sign-offs and strategy meetings, presenting product vision, trend direction and commercial recommendations., • Build strong supplier relationships and lead sourcing strategy, with a focus on quality, fit, design integrity and opportunity., • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Merchandising, E-commerce and Marketing to support strong product storytelling and go-to-market execution., • Lead and develop a team from BAAs through to Junior Buyers and Buyers providing clear leadership, coaching and performance management., • Support the Head of Buying on wider strategic initiatives and contribute as a key ambassador for the Buying function. What we’re looking for • Experience operating at Senior Buyer level, or a strong established Buyer ready for a step up., • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead, coach and develop teams while creating a high-performing culture., • Experience in Lingerie, Intimates or a closely related category., • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing multiple ranges, OTB and budgets., • Strong product and trend handwriting, with the ability to balance creativity and commerciality., • Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills., • Experience leading and developing teams, with the ability to influence cross-functionally., • Enthusiasm, pace and commitment to driving category performance and customer outcomes. KPI’s • Accountable for the cost price, selling price which delivers the BIM., • Accountable for the demand and NAM on the area., • Accountable for the team’s development and performance on the segment., • To fully understand and meet the customer needs, increase customer 5-star product reviews whilst driving the customer panel most preferred result.
