Job Description Inventory Control Specialist Job Description The Inventory Control Specialist receives, stores, and manages electronic components within a temperature- and humidity-controlled warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory records and timely material flow to production. This role uses ERP systems and RF scan guns to track stock, resolve discrepancies, and support efficient manufacturing operations while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Responsibilities • Receive incoming shipments of electronic components and verify quantities and quality against purchase orders and specifications., • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials to identify any damage or defects and escalate issues as needed., • Accurately enter receiving data into the ERP system to ensure complete documentation and traceability of all materials., • Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system, including stock levels, storage locations, and material movements., • Perform regular cycle counts and participate in physical inventories to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies., • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, and damaged materials, and document corrective actions., • Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and minimize carrying costs while ensuring material availability for production., • Implement and follow inventory control procedures and best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency., • Pick and pack materials and components for production orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to the production line., • Coordinate closely with production planning to ensure materials are available when needed and to support production schedules., • Investigate and resolve production delays related to inventory issues, working with relevant teams to remove bottlenecks., • Use RF scan guns and other material handling tools to track, move, and record inventory transactions., • Perform general material handling tasks, including loading, unloading, and staging materials in designated locations., • Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment safely, following all applicable procedures and guidelines., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials., • Assist with the maintenance and basic upkeep of warehouse equipment to support reliable operations., • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory processes, increase accuracy, and streamline material flow., • Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal stakeholders, such as production and planning teams, regarding inventory status and material availability., • At least 2+ years of experience in inventory management or a related field within a manufacturing or warehousing environment., • Proficiency in ERP systems for inventory tracking, receiving, and material management., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and data analysis., • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices., • Experience with cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory discrepancy resolution., • Material handling experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting., • Ability to safely operate forklifts or similar warehouse equipment., • Experience with shipping and receiving processes for materials and components., • Ability to use RF scan guns for inventory transactions and tracking., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve inventory issues., • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping., • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment., • Effective customer service skills when supporting internal teams., • Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs as part of regular material handling duties., • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within a warehouse environment., • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Associate’s degree preferred., • Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehousing environment., • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and adopt best practices. You will work with ERP systems, RF scan guns, forklifts, and standard warehouse equipment in a clean, organized, and safety-conscious setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
