Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate supports a high-volume manufacturing facility by operating machinery, monitoring production processes, and performing visual quality inspections. In this role, you work across multiple departments in glass manufacturing, receive cross-training on various lines, and contribute directly to the safe and efficient production of automotive glass products. Responsibilities • Operate production and manufacturing machinery in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines., • Monitor the manufacturing process to ensure smooth operation and identify any issues or irregularities., • Perform visual quality inspections on glass products to verify they meet required specifications and standards., • Support general production activities, including assembly, packaging, and line work as needed., • Use basic hand tools and measuring tools, such as tape measures, to complete production tasks accurately., • Handle and move materials and products, including lifting items up to 50 pounds, in a safe and efficient manner., • Work on different production lines and in various departments, including fabrication, float, and other glass manufacturing areas, as assigned., • Follow written and verbal work instructions to meet production goals and quality requirements., • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency., • Participate in cross-training to learn multiple roles within the facility and provide support where needed., • Adhere to all plant safety policies, quality standards, and union-related procedures., • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and support continuous improvement.Essential Skills, • High school diploma or GED required., • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis., • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools effectively., • Ability to perform general production and general labor tasks in a manufacturing environment., • Experience with assembly and working on an assembly line., • Ability to operate manufacturing machines and production equipment., • Capability to perform visual inspection and basic quality checks., • Comfort with packaging tasks and handling finished products., • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately., • Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts, including potential movement to 2nd or 3rd shift based on business needs.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly in automotive or glass production, is beneficial., • Experience with machine operation in a production environment is an advantage., • Familiarity with unionized work environments is helpful., • Comfort working in different departments and adapting to changing production priorities., • Strong attention to detail to identify defects or quality issues during inspection., • Reliability and strong work ethic to support consistent production output., • Willingness to participate in cross-training and develop skills across multiple production lines.Why Work Here? Work Environment You work in an automotive glass manufacturing facility with a union environment. The plant includes multiple departments such as Fabrication (8-hour shifts), Float (12-hour shifts), and specialized lines for windshields (EPBL), side windows (HST), and sunroofs (TL3). The facility operates multiple shifts, with current hiring and training on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), and additional 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.) and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.) operations. You must be flexible with your work schedule, as shift assignments can change based on union procedures and production needs. The environment is fast-paced, production-focused, and requires adherence to safety standards, proper use of tools and equipment, and consistent collaboration with a team on the manufacturing floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.14 - $19.14/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
