Job Description Job Title: Pipe Installer Project is located in Jeffersonville, IN. Travelers are accepted. Job Description The Pipe Installer installs, assembles, and secures piping systems and related components in industrial and construction environments. This role reads and interprets blueprints and technical drawings, prepares and uses a variety of tools and materials, and ensures that all piping systems operate safely and efficiently. The position also involves testing, troubleshooting, and repairing existing systems while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to strict safety standards. Responsibilities • Install, assemble, and secure pipes, fittings, and related components according to blueprints, schematics, and specifications., • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery., • Inspect worksite conditions and prepare all required materials, tools, and equipment before installation activities begin., • Test piping systems for leaks, pressure integrity, and proper operation using appropriate testing methods and equipment., • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to coordinate installation activities and ensure project timelines are met., • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and any changes made to piping systems., • Follow all OSHA, company, and industry safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and safe tool operation., • Troubleshoot and repair existing piping systems as needed to resolve performance issues or failures., • Perform general labor tasks related to construction and installation, including material handling and site cleanup., • Assist with duct work, duct installation, and sheet metal or cast iron fabrication as required by project scope., • Use measuring tools such as tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure precise installation., • Proven experience in industrial pipefitting, plumbing, or mechanical installation., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, schematics, and other technical drawings., • Proficiency with pipe installation tools such as threaders, cutters, welders, and torches., • Strong understanding of industrial piping materials including steel, copper, PVC, and specialty alloys., • Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures., • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, threading, bending, and securing pipes., • Competence in using measuring tools, including tape measures, to ensure accurate layout and installation., • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment as required for installation work., • Capability to work at heights and in various industrial or construction environments., • Trade school education or completion of an apprenticeship program in pipefitting, plumbing, or a related mechanical trade is preferred., • Experience with HVAC installation and duct work, including duct installation and duct fabrication., • Prior experience in construction or general labor within industrial or commercial projects., • Familiarity with sheet metal and cast iron work, including basic fabrication tasks., • Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and repairing existing piping systems., • Attention to detail in following specifications and documenting work performed., • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and other trades on multi-disciplinary projects. The position may require working at heights, in tight or confined spaces, and in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Work hours typically follow standard construction schedules, with potential for overtime based on project timelines. The environment is safety-focused, with strict adherence to OSHA standards and lockout/tagout procedures, and requires appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment suitable for industrial and construction sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
