Visit our website: POSITION OVERVIEW/SUMMARY: Metalex is expanding its advanced turning capabilities and is seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists to join our team. This position involves the setup and operation of both horizontal and vertical CNC lathes to machine complex, high-value parts for critical aerospace and industrial applications. You'll work with a variety of challenging materials — including Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel — producing precision components to tight tolerances in a clean, modern, and high-performance environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Set up and operate horizontal and vertical CNC lathes, including machines with multi-axis and live tooling capabilities, • Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and workholding solutions based on part geometry and material, • Machine precision parts to tight tolerances (typically ±.0005”) and meet strict surface finish requirements, • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, process documentation, and GD&T specifications, • Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, bore gages, calipers, height gages, and other precision measuring tools, • Maintain and adjust machine offsets, tooling wear, and workholding to ensure consistent quality, • Follow routers, setup sheets, and document any deviations or improvements, • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Programming, and Quality to resolve dimensional or machining issues, • Support cross-training efforts and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture, • Maintain clean and organized work area aligned with 6S principles and all company safety policies, • 3–5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes (horizontal and/or vertical) in a precision machining environment, • Familiarity with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls, • Strong knowledge of tooling, insert geometry, speeds/feeds, and best practices for machining tough materials, • Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation, • Skilled in the use of precision inspection tools and able to perform accurate in-process inspections, • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods, • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (required for ITAR compliance), • Competitive Wages + Performance Bonuses, • Paid Time Off (PTO), • Family Health Insurance (Medical and Dental), • Prescription Drug Plan, • 401(k) Plan with Company Match, • Tuition/Education Reimbursement, • Company-paid Life Insurance, • Short and Long-Term Disability, • Flexible Spending Account (FSA), • Voluntary Short-Term Disability and Voluntary Life Insurance, • On-site Fitness Facility (available to employees and family), • Access to Vacation Cabin in Montana (available to employees in good standing) Company DescriptionMetalex is a family owned company located in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area.
