WHAT YOU WILL DO: • The Production Floor Trainer is a 100% training-focused role dedicated to developing, qualifying, and validating technical competence within the production environment. This position delivers structured training to new production employees and conducts formal hands-on evaluations before technicians are authorized for independent work. This role serves as the primary gatekeeper of technical skill and workmanship standards on the production floor. The sole responsibility is ensuring every technician meets L2 Aviation’s quality, safety, and compliance standards before progressing. You will:, • Conduct structured onboarding training for aircraft wiring harness fabrication including stripping, crimping, terminating, shielding, labeling, routing, lacing, and continuity verification., • Train employees on SATCOM and high-speed data assemblies including coax, twinax, quadrax, fiber optics, and specialized aerospace connectors., • Deliver instruction on blueprint reading, engineering drawing interpretation, and manufacturing documentation requirements., • Instruct technicians on AS9100 quality standards, IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship criteria, and internal compliance procedures., • Train on proper tool usage, calibration awareness, ESD controls, and safety standards., • Conduct formal hands-on skill assessments prior to production authorization., • Validate and document technical proficiency, classification levels, and qualification status., • Administer retraining and corrective development plans when deficiencies are identified., • Provide objective evaluation reports to Production and Quality leadership., • Support First Article readiness by verifying technician qualification standards., • Partner with Production and Quality to identify recurring workmanship trends requiring training intervention., • Maintain training documentation in accordance with regulatory and audit requirements., • Update training materials to reflect engineering changes, process improvements, and customer requirements., • Ensure training processes protect safety, compliance, product integrity, and customer satisfaction. WHAT YOU BRING: • You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:, • 7–10 years of aerospace or avionics wiring harness manufacturing experience, or equivalent avionics installation background., • Demonstrated mastery in aircraft harness fabrication, high-speed data systems, and RF assemblies., • Strong knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and AS9100 standards., • Experience conducting structured skills assessments in regulated aerospace environments., • Proven ability to identify workmanship deficiencies and implement corrective training., • Strong instructional, communication, and mentoring skills., • High attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance., • Ability to maintain objectivity and neutrality when evaluating technical competence., • Prior leadership or formal training experience preferred., • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Trainer Certification or equivalent preferred., • Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing and any applicable company/FAA Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program that may be required., • Must be able to pass required background checks, including a 10-year TSA check if airport access or badging is required.
