Job Description The Organization For over 55 years, Urban Community School (UCS) has served Cleveland's children by providing an individualized, innovative, and challenging education. Role Overview The Recruitment & Admissions Coordinator supports the school's mission by leading outreach, recruitment, and admissions efforts for students from 6 weeks old through 8th grade. This role ensures a welcoming and supportive admissions experience for prospective families. The Coordinator serves as a key ambassador for the school, building meaningful relationships with families, managing communications and events, and maintaining accurate enrollment data. Responsibilities Recruitment: • Develop and implement strategic recruitment initiatives to attract new families that reflect the school's values and enrollment goals for infants - 8th grade., • Represent the school with professionalism and enthusiasm at open houses, fairs, community events, and outreach programs., • Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations to generate leads and referrals., • Regularly connect with current families and alumni to generate leads and referrals., • Collaborate with the development team to create compelling recruitment materials (brochures, social media content, videos, and digital campaigns) that effectively convey the school's story, values, and programs., • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective families from initial inquiry through enrollment., • Schedule and conduct campus tours, shadow days, and screening opportunities., • Guide families through the application process, ensuring timely and transparent communication., • Collaborate with faculty and administrators to review applications and assist with admission decisions., • Communicate key messages about the school's mission, culture, and programs with clarity and authenticity., • Manage all application materials, deadlines, and admissions documentation., • Prepare and communicate decisions to families including acceptances and denials timely, accurately, and with empathy., • Maintain accurate records in the school's admissions database., • Track and report on applicant trends, enrollment numbers, and retention data., • Support the development of annual enrollment goals and forecasts., • Serve as the primary source of support for new families during the time between admission and attendance, especially for early childhood students., • Partner with Financial Aid & Tuition Coordinator to move families through the funding resource pipeline., • Passionate about inspiring others to join the UCS community, • Excels at building relationships with various stakeholders including students, families/caregivers, and educators., • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, • Excellent time and self-management skills; able to attend to multiple competing priorities, • A hunger for feedback and an openness to engage in a process of self-improvement, • Exhibits excellent attention to detail with strong organizational abilities, • High level of self-awareness, • Strong self-motivation, entrepreneurial spirit, and team orientation, • Sound judgment and decision making skills, • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events., • Bachelor's degree required; background in education, communications, or related field preferred., • 3-5 years of experience in admissions, sales/marketing, or family relations (preferably in an educational setting), • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, • Must be able to walk significant distances and climb stairs throughout the day as the campus is situated on several acres with 2 buildings, ranging from single story to two stories, along with 5 campus partner facilities, • Salary commensurate with experience ($50,000 - $55,000 per year), • 401(k) with a generous employer contribution and match, • Medical, dental and vision insurance, • Employer paid life insurance, AD&D, and short and long term disability coverage, • 12 weeks of paid parental leave, • Tuition discount for students who attend UCS, • Educational assistance program (up to $2,000 per year), • Professional development fund, • Concierge health benefit services, • Casual work attire (denim and UCS spirit wear are welcomed), • On-site fitness center for faculty and staff, • Financial and retirement advising at no cost to employees, • Status: Full-Time; Exempt, • Reports to: Chief Enrollment Officer, • Hours & Schedule: 40 hours per week/year-round Urban Community School is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
