Job Description POSITION PURPOSE The Senior Project Engineer- Components qualifies engineered components for use in New Products, for reducing risk in BAC’s supply chain, and for cost outs. The role is also expected to provide expert engineering support to technical inquiries from all parts of the business. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES • Deliver on-time completion of components development/qualification projects to support new products, product improvements, supplier risk reduction and cost out. This includes, but is not limited to:, • Investigate and analyze product/component design requirements and recommend optimum solutions., • Lead components DFMEAs and develop component’s reliability evaluation plans to ensure reliability goals for components/materials are met, • Apply standards/codes such as CTI, UL, CE, ASME, Eurovent, PEI, PED, China GB, Japan JIT, and any others as required, • Work with suppliers, other engineering experts, internal labs and 3rd party labs to develop and execute component qualification and reliability test plans, • Review test data, interpret the test results, and write technical reports of all components study work. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES • Develop new product requirements for Latin America, in collaboration with Global Marketing and the broader Americas region, • Champion Latin American needs on cross-functional new product development teams, • Identify product needs related to performance, codes and standards, and competition, • Develop business cases and work with the broader Americas and Global Marketing teams to address product gaps and regional priorities for Latin America, • Set orders targets for new products with the sales team, • Participate in product launches and cross-functional activities with Americas Product Marketing, • Assist with market segmentation and product positioning for Latin America, • Perform supplemental market research, and guide all business functions through sales and market data, • Recommend and support development of technical literature and digital sales tools, including value analyzers, • Deliver persuasive presentations to BAC executives, sales representatives, customers, and industry groups, • Participate in Latin American industry events The Latin American Product Engineer will report to the Marketing Manager, Latin America. This role is responsible for working with BAC employees at all levels of the organization, sales representatives, consultants, contractors, and end users. The assigned location for this position is Jessup, Maryland with travel to Latin America to job sites, BAC factories, sales representative and customer offices, and tradeshows. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS • Bachelor of Science in engineering, marketing, or business administration with the appropriate level of experience and coursework; MBA is a plus, • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in HVAC or industrial equipment markets, • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish, • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, • Demonstrated previous experience with new product launches, • Strong business acumen with experience in analyzing financial and sales data, • Skilled in product management with experience in pricing analysis, payback analysis, and product positioning, • Strong project management experience with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, • Skilled in market research, communicating market needs, and identifying trends to influence business strategies and new product development The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
