Job Description Group Plant Controller TruCourse Foods Full-Time | Onsite | Grand Rapids, MI Reports to: Chief Financial Officer About TruCourse Foods TruCourse Foods is a growing food manufacturing platform focused on building and scaling high-quality snack businesses through operational excellence, disciplined financial management, and strategic acquisitions. TruCourse Foods is the parent company of CK Snacks and Axium Foods, each operating manufacturing facilities serving national and regional customers. As TruCourse continues to integrate and expand its platform, the company is seeking a Group Plant Controller to provide strong financial leadership across its operating subsidiaries and support enterprise-level decision making. Position Summary The Group Plant Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing accounting, cost accounting, and financial operations across multiple manufacturing facilities within TruCourse Foods, including CK Snacks and Axium Foods. This role ensures consistent financial controls, accurate and timely reporting, effective forecasting, and compliance with audit, lender, and benefit plan requirements across all entities. The Group Plant Controller partners closely with Plant Controllers, Operations leadership, and Executive Management to drive financial visibility, cost discipline, and operational performance. This position also plays a key role in supporting mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition integration, and lender reporting. Occasional travel to company locations is required. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Oversight • Lead, mentor, and develop Plant Controllers and their Accounting & Finance teams across all facilities, • Establish, standardize, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls across subsidiaries, • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, • Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements for TruCourse Foods in accordance with GAAP, • Manage intercompany accounting, eliminations, and consolidation adjustments, • Deliver clear, timely consolidated and plant-level financial reporting packages, • Develop and monitor key financial and operational performance metrics, • Oversee standard costing, cost updates, and variance analysis across all plants, • Ensure strong controls over inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventories, • Lead the consolidated annual budgeting process across all entities, • Oversee plant-level and consolidated P&L forecasts, • Manage the 13-week cash flow forecasting process, • Support banking relationships in partnership with the CFO, • Prepare lender reporting packages, compliance certificates, and covenant calculations, • Serve as the primary liaison for external financial statement audits, • Oversee 401(k) plan audits and ensure compliance with ERISA and related regulations, • Provide financial oversight of TruCourse Foods’ 401(k) plans, • Coordinate with third-party administrators, auditors, recordkeepers, and advisors, • Oversee preparation and timely filing of Form 5500 and related schedules, • Support plan governance processes and committee reporting, • Oversee corporate insurance programs, including liability and related coverages, • Assist with financial due diligence for acquisitions, • Support integration of acquired businesses into TruCourse Foods’ financial systems, reporting, and controls, • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and financial visibility, • Support ERP and financial systems optimization initiatives, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA strongly preferred, • 8–12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, • Multi-site manufacturing experience required, • Strong background in standard costing, cost accounting, and inventory management, • Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred, • Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain accounting and finance teams, • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment Physical Demands & Work Environment • Combination of office and manufacturing plant environment, • Requires standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands and arms TruCourse Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
