POSITION PURPOSE: The Case Manager is responsible for coordination of person-centered services for vulnerable individuals and assisting them in navigating complex service delivery systems. The Case Manager assists persons in gaining access to needed social, medical, educational and other supports and services. The case manager works on behalf of the person to identify their unique needs and to minimize the impact of the disability on the person's life while assuring continuity of services and supports for the person. NATURE AND SCOPE: The Case Manager reports to the Lead Case Manager who reports to the Executive Vice President who reports to the President. The Case Manager is responsible for a variety of individual tasks, which require knowledge of disabilities and related conditions. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills are required. The job requires frequent contacts with clients, families, guardians, legal representatives, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate services for vulnerable individuals and assisting them in navigating the complex service delivery systems. Job Description Job Title Field Technician Location: Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN Area (REMOTE) FLSA Classification Non-Exempt Job Description: Orbital Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking a Field Technician within our Utility Services team. Candidate will work remotely and must live within reasonable commuting distance of the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area in order to complete any necessary field work. Orbital Engineering’s Utility Services team partners with Utility and Communication Companies in Engineering and Construction operations for Joint Use Pole Attachment Programs (JU), Distribution Engineering Design Projects, and Distribution System Improvement Charge (DSIC) programs, such as the Pennsylvania Long-Term Infrastructure Improvement Program (LTIIP). This position will directly support projects within the department’s pole attachment application process and power delivery improvement process. The Utility Services team is also responsible for analyzing requests for attachment to client’s poles and network reliability improvements on client’s electric distribution systems. Our staff support GIS data analytics, creation of notifications, work orders, invoicing, and financial reports utilizing enterprise resource planning software. Essential Functions • Visually identify, inspect, and record equipment and different construction situations in the field, including rights-of-way, • Apply National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Standards, Client Standards, Federal, State or Local Municipal Guidelines, and/or other applicable guidelines throughout daily data collection workflow, • Utilize technology tools for data collection efforts as well as a telescopic fiberglass measurement stick to accurately measure clearances on utility poles, • Communicate with others, including co-workers and clients, to agree on the best solution for engineering design, • Coordinates or supports flagging effort for field data collection, as required, • Can transcribe notes, use measuring devices to identify, inspect, and record the data which is found in an organized manner, • Can endure frequent driving, standing, walking (numerous miles a day), navigating (on foot or in a vehicle), and balancing objects which may weigh up to 20 pounds in congested and/or complex terrain, • Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions and in residential, commercial, and industrial areas, • Must be willing to travel overnight or for extended periods of time, based on project assignment, • Work is primarily in the field with minimum time in an office environment, • Will be required to attend meetings at clients’ sites and regularly interact with the general public, including landowners, • May occasionally enter energized extra-high voltage substations up to 745kV and will need to coordinate with appropriate utility personnel throughout fielding activities within this location Please note that this job posting does not list all duties and responsibilities that are required of this job. Compensation is based on market data and internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s location.
